I can’t see how this young man wouldn’t be an asset to our team. He’s got the size to play for sure. But, whether or not he turns out to get significant snaps, I definitely like his attitude and excitement to be part of Mississippi State.

Are we still "building our roster on the back end" or whatever statement Lebby said after signing day?***

We’re taking a lot of 3* and hoping some of them pan out.
You don’t make any sense with this take. Right now we are ranked 12th in the portal rankings. Ahead of a lot of what you would define as better programs. Right now we have a better class than AR (one 4 star) and AsU(ranked 45 and zero 4 star) amongst others.

You just described MSU football for the last 25 years.
More like last 80 years most likely. But the game has changed with NIL and the portal. We could always develop those players and they could be productive in years 3-5. Can't do it that way any more.

Actually we don't really know how it's going to work yet, not long term. There will be a reaction to how it's working at the moment as people figure out the limits and loopholes. There is no way we have reached equilibrium here yet.

So by this logic all teams in the portal got better except for the 12th ranked team Mississippi state they didn’t get better. Right??!
I mean the 46th ranked portal class ASU signed well they got significantly better but the 12th ranked class didn’t?? The 2024 portal class For Az St was ranked 30th with 30 signees. They some how won 11 games coming off back to back 3-9 season. Did you know in Dillingham first year in 23 they got beat by Fresno State 29-0..? ASU fans were ready to run Dillingham after that game just like some of y’all want to on Lebby right now.

I hope he’ll get his degree from Stanford before transferring here.

I’d like it if he can help State football but acedemically ($1 since I know @Mr. Cook will catch my use of RSFC misspelling schtick) Stanford >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> State…
Yeah, I always think that with some of these guys who clearly won’t go pro. He was at Penn before Stanford. Please, please, please get that Stanford degree before transferring

Looking at the transfer portal incoming/outgoing, I think the only position where we lost more than we added is wide receiver.

I know it's not saying much, but we will be better next year. Not good. But better.

And we did take 6 WRs . They may be just as good or better than what left, certainly with an improved run game they can be productive enough for the overall offense to improve.

He might end up being the smartest guy on the team. We might need that graduation rate to get into a bowl game over the three years if we keep Lebby.
