Great report on LaNorris

Had the opportunity to chat up a retired and extremely respected SC high school football coach. He knows SC football through and through. Oh, and he’s a die-hard Clemson fan.

He’s confident we got an absolute steal in LaNorris. He followed LaNorris closely and said if South would have had him throw 20+ times/game, then he’d be the starter at Alabama this season. But they didn’t need to open it up that much, which caused him to be a bit under the radar as a QB prospect.

This coincides with what a friend who coached Lanorris in middle school told me. I dismissed that as a biased opinion.

It’s all gotta play out on the field but the potential is there.

Can we Gamecocks fan be thankful and not be so pessimistic about everything. When you thank all the time about bad things happening they will. Life and death is in the power of the tongue, if you speak something speak positive things and they will come.

We will win the national championship this year.

There, we don't need to play the season now.

That’s…….not accurate.

Nope. I have been burned so many times I feel like an abused spouse. Every time I hear positive things about this team I flinch.

I prefer being positive and taking the season one game at a time. Yes, the conference is stacked with very good teams but we can win again. I'm hoping for a 7 or 8 win season.

Expecting 6, hoping for more. An 8 win season would be incredible considering the circumstances.

I went to one game last season (Furman). He looked great in that game. But, it was Furman.

Yeah, obviously, can't read too much into his limited performances last year. He appears to have an arm, with a couple of the throws he made (only had like 4 passes on the season, so maybe he just got really, really, really, really, really, really lucky on those beautiful passes) and appears to be a fairly elusive as a runner and not easy to tackle. I like his build as his body is essentially NFL-ready. He's got good height at 6'3", which is a smidge above the NFL average.

From the physical standpoint, there's absolutely nothing lacking. Arm strength isn't an issue. Mobility isn't an issue. It's just going to come down to execution.

Looking purely at the build and physical skill set, I don't know when we've signed a QB like Sellers.

Thank you for your fact-based analysis. Let’s hope “the power of the tongue” helps our offensive line.

In all seriousness, I'm EXCITED about this coming season. We have a QB who is talented, can throw and run. We have a stud RB. We have an OL that got lots of reps last year due to all the injuries. We have a defense, from all reports, might be the strength of the team, led by a proven, quality DC. We had a Top 10 Transfer Portal class.

Get ready to put a smack down on opponents. Line'em up and mow'em down.
