Can't argue with Saban being #1 at this point.
It’s easy to see why people think he’s the best all time, and I would say he’s on a short list including Joe and Bear. My question though, is how manny national championships he would have won at Michigan State? Is it harder for someone to win at an all time great program or turning a knobody program like Kansas State into a competitive national prescence like Snyder did?

Nick always comes off as a class act. I like Nick very much. That said, Nick is not Joe. Our Joe had powerhouse teams in five different decades. Also, Joe wanted entrance requirements raised for college freshmen when he was interviewed as Sports Illustrated's Sportsman of the Year in 1986. Sorry, I can't see Nick arguing about raising requirements but that's just me...

How many would bear have won at a and m. same deal. They both moved to a larger program and made them great. Bama was in shambles when saban took over.

what did it for me is replacing his starting qb and going with a rookie in the second half and not going back to the starter at all and they won. Let alone is constant coaching still after all of these years during the games. Wow! What a coach!

Interesting list but John Madden is number 4 ahead of John Wooden and Chuck Noll and Bill Walsh aren't on there at all? Hmm...

Who’s this Paterno lad they talk about?
Don't get too excited about him....he might have a couple good years, but he probably won't last.

I vote for Russ Rose, recently retired Women's Volleyball Coach at PSU. His record speaks volumes for his ability as a coach.

What about Pat Summit, former Women's BB coach at Tennessee or Auriemma at Connecticut.

Some of the coaches on this list were good, very good, but not great -- need some longevity to be great.

I guess there is a starting point here but if you include Wooden (richly so) then not sure how Red Auerbach is also not included. Hard to omit him given the Celtics dynasty that he lorded over.
