I’ll repeat. I wish Lehigh could be our biggest challenger. Obviously that’s not likely, but pushing ahead of Iowa would be a start 
They have a good upperweight roster with Macchiavello, Honis, and Wood. And Cenzo on full feed.
It's not Snyder, Varner, and Cael -- but it's a good arrangement.
From previous rumors on the boards, it seems that maybe big Greg has new priorities in his life—but I’m glad he’s sticking with freestyle: he has all the tools to be successful.
A guess this shouldn’t be surprising but it appears it’s one thing to break into the PSU wrestling lineup, it’s a whole other accomplishment for NLWC to extent a serious offer. Also seems that talent is just part of that equation

We shouldn't be too surprised if Cael tries to import a HWT for NLWC, even if not a big name.
IIRC the only NLWC HWT is Cole Mirasola (unless we count Cassar occasionally stopping in).

I just saw a pop-up suggesting that Greg is signing with the Lehigh training center. Interesting if true, best of luck to him.

I was hoping Greg stayed around for a bit.
Not really my tea to spill. Maybe @dicemen99 woukd be willing to share again. But allegorically speaking, as a young man, I had many priorities I no longer have. Now, I have a wife (and a house, and 2 boys).
That said, the surface story that Greg (He’s calling himself Daniel again too though, he seems to like flipping that script from time to time too) is close with Cenzo and Honis is an adequate explanation too—not every talented wrestler follows the same calculation, even when NLWC is the most obviously successful current path to success.
He hinted that one of the veterans wasn't all in due to a "Spyker/Quentin Wright" situation (aka a girl taking up a lot of his time, not uncommon when you're dealing with kids in their early 20s who are probably the most popular guys on campus).
He also said it wasn't Beau Bartlett when I suggested maybe it was him during the massive dirty laundry air out earlier this summer
Good summary. I think most big decisions have a multitude a factors that come into play, not just a single driver.
Love that Kerk introduces himself as "Penn State alum."
Here's the thing, Kerk wanting a change of scenery is not a bad reflection on him or NLWC. Although it looks like a large portion of wrestling fandom thinks that it is. Iowa & the HWC is perpetually slammed for stagnating and being afraid to bring in any new points of view. Perhaps Kerk just wants something different, and that is almost always a good thing. Unless that something different is lutefisk.
Any thought on Gable considering a run at 2028 Olympics? He and Cael are friendly.
I have no inside information on this particular situation. What I do know is the NLWC will have some decisions coming sooner rather than later. I don't know what everyone is getting paid, and its none of my business. But I think it would be pretty hard to keep Greg and everyone that is currently there along with the guys who are coming in the future like Levi, MM, Lilledahl, Blaze, Duke, possibly Ono, etc. I wish Greg all the best and hope he can rep the USA, but sometimes tough decisions have to be made. I'm not saying NLWC "cut ties" with him, but in my opinion, it is possible Lehigh was able to put together a better package longer term.

Snyder and Varner are great practice partners, but it is good to have a 260 pounder to go rounds with. If just to get the feel for.
Pending appeal, Aaron can't go 97 or any other weight for 3 years. Kerk moving now for that reason seems premature.
Even if Aaron were to appeal and received a reduced suspension i would imagine Kyle stands his ground. His vertical limitations would i imagine be an issue against the world's best 125 (275) dudes.
