So the question is. Does allar have the same success at Robinson Clark and mcsorely as a first year starter. He has all the offensive weapons to do just that. It will be up to him. If he doesn’t then it will be up to him as well.

We lose that game. Purdue has three losses as would have Penn State. Purdue would have gone to the Rose Bowl.

We're in the Rose Bowl because Franklin played Clifford.
Of course, he started that game the kids been playing Football for 20yrs, there was never a real thought of starting Allar then, good lord people let it go. Kid had a solid career; congrats he gets one more and then it's off to the real world and 9-5 somewhere, just enjoy it for what it is.

If Allar started against Purdue, we would have been 2-0 after that game. That's how good he is.

Purdue would have had one less touchdown pass.

Or maybe two more! Anything / everything is pure speculation, no one knows!

Maybe he fumbles a snap, maybe he breaks a leg…..or maybe he passes for 400 yds. Any guess is as good or as bad as any other guess!

What basis do you have for assuming the loss?

Clifford played like *** that game until the final drive. Isn’t it just as likely that Allar would’ve played better, overall, and the result was a more convincing win for us?

Hard to say. I think Franklin made a concerted effort to get Allar some reps this season. I'd even go so far as saying he saw what lack of experience can do from the Iowa game the previous season. Franklin isn't perfect, but he does try to learn from his mistakes.

Could Allar have gotten more meaningful reps? Maybe. Did Franklin balance those reps with what he felt have PSU the best shot at winning this season, yeah.

Football is changing. With the portal as well as risk of injury anyone who isn't developing depth at QB is taking a huge risk these days.

Proof PSU loses?
There’s of course no proof but in my opinion it’s doubtful that we’d be at 10-2 if Allar had been the starter from Day 1. The trade-off would have been that Allar would have had a full year of being the starting qb going into next year. I wanted Clifford to move on after last year but that’s water under the bridge.

Completely agree. I wanted Clifford to move on as well, but we are here we are. At least Allar did get some reps in during the season and he will have had 2 spring practices under his belt.
