With the dramatic rise is antisemitism in this country it’s no longer safe to be Jewish. The news is filled with holocaust denyers, stories of physical attacks on Jewish people, assaults and killings in synagogues, and politicians stirring the pot of hatred. I hope during this holiday season that we can all be sensitive to the rights of all people to exercise their religious freedom and practice theirs without fear or ridicule. May all of you have a safe and enjoyable holiday season, whatever holiday you choose to celebrate.

In my opinion, turn off the Cable News Networks and Social Media and you'll find that things aren't quite as bleak as they're made out to be. IMO, people are kinder, more accepting and understanding of different cultures now more than ever but that doesn't sell advertisements.

I don’t want to get into debating this here. That wasn’t my point as I was hoping to make a positive statement of good wishes for all. The anti defamation league whose data I trust maintains calculations on the numbers. And what about all the anti Asian attacks resulting from the “Chinese Virus”? Those didn’t happen? Kanye, the innocent man on the Brooklyn subway, the FBI get getting threats on NJ synagogues, Kyrie, every day another incident. Tonight night there will be a police car guarding my synagogue- because they have to. If you’re Jewish you’re a target. It didn’t use to be that way. Some people are more kind and accepting but white supremacy and racism are also flourishing unfortunately. I wish it wasn’t so.
