We had the pleasure of hosting some friends and their kids this past weekend as they toured the school. While I don't think we converted them (one to Arkansas, one to Arizona, one undecided), I do believe they had a great time - minus the one Penn State "fan" in WC that was doing his best Randy Quaid in Major League impersonation.

Here's my recap of our weekend.

Very nice write up! The only things to send it over the top would be a visit to the shot clock and a Boursin cheesesteak! 🤌

that probably would have sealed the deal with all 3 of the kids.

I must say that the Arkansas selection is a strange one, at least to me.

That's awesome! By the look on Dambach's face, she looks to be the one doing the stalking!!!

On another note, they showed a video with the program history that you must have missed. It had multiple shots of Paterno and mentioned him by name. They did a really good job on it.

Haha! True! Definitely missed it the tribute. And couldn’t find anything online. Does anyone have a link?

Also underrated is feeding the huge breeder trout from the bridge at the park in Bellfonte. Somehow I was told about it as a student and visited when buying the cheapest Rolling Rock kegs in Pennsylvania from the distributoron the hill. I recently revisited during freshman orientation. My kids weren't nearly as excited as I was! 🤣

If you have never been to Fayetteville, Arkansas ......you would be surprised how much it reminds you of State College ( where I grew up).

The towns have some similarities. I've been to the University of Arkansas several times, and am not a big fan of it.

About 15 years ago I went to a regular season basketball game there when visiting a friend. Not a big game, just a regular game. I was blown away how packed the place was and the fans were amped like it was game 7 of the NBA finals.

My buddy, who loves Penn State, has nothing but great things to say about Fayetteville. His wife went there before she moved away but they go back often. They have great athletic programs, although FB is not one of their best. His son is going into engineering so he’s really pushing PSU. He said Arkansas is decent but really can’t compare to PSU.

It didn’t help that they beat us in the bowl last year 😠
