I will admit that I have been hard on the coaching staff about the offense. I was happily surprised when I saw the OL pulling a lot more and cross blocking and not just trying to straight up muscle the DL to create a hole. I like seeing the time Allar had to throw the ball. I liked seeing us getting 4 -5 yards on some carries. What I especially noticed is that the RB was not getting tackled constantly in the backfield by some defender slipping off a block or not accounted for. With the running game improvement we actually had receivers open and Drew had time to find the open receiver and throw the ball. I am encouraged by this offense. Now, that being said, I do think Franklin meddled with the offense with that up the middles run on 3rd & 6 that went no where. I see us 5-0 going into USC and I hope the can clean up a little of the sloppiness by then. For the first time in many many seasons, I am encouraged by the improvement I observed in the first games offense. Granted it was only WVU but time will tell.
