Harbaugh and Franklin

Seems to be a real issue between these coaching staffs and keeps escalating. After the last game you had Michigan's asst coach tweeting at franklin and now Harbaugh calling Franklin "sophmoric..."
Wait... someone threw a pbj sandwich at a michy player? One our players (that seems the implication)?

What I'm not getting is why anyone on our team would have been woofing at the team that was kicking their asses all over the field (not on scoreboard -- yet -- but....). Seriously...

The Michigan tunnel has existed for 95 years but James Franklin thinks the BIG10 should NOW come up with a process to avoid PB&J sandwiches being thrown and teams yelling at each other be instigated.

He, Franklin, is defecting from the game results.

James wants a "buffer" between the two teams of 2 minutes between teams entering the tunnel. Ok James , two years from now, if you are still the PSU coach, HOLD your team aside on your sideline and let the Michigan team enter the tunnel first and go to their locker room while PSU waits two minutes. Then PSU will lose 2 minutes of the allotted 20 minute for their half time.

Or , because James wants a two-minute buffer for the Michigan Tunnel, the Big 10 should allocate, for the first time in 95 years, a 22-minute halftime to provide for a 2 minute "buffer" but only in Ann Arbor. God I hope Franklin coaches PSU for the next 20 years.

The reality here is that Harbaugh and Franklin are on opposite ends of the political spectrum. They don't agree on much.
I thought that we were supposed to keep politics out of sports....because some people "work hard" and "deserve a break from day to day issues" and "sports is for them to relax"....

Or maybe the Big House should introduce itself to the 21st century. Or maybe they just can't afford it. Can you name me one other stadium in the country that has a similar situation. Looks to me like Franklin rightfully got upset when some Michigan coach or other official told his players to "get in the locker room". Franklin correctly told the clown that he wasn't going to put up with him telling his team what to do. Seems like maybe the guy should have told those "angelic" Michigan players to get in their locker room instead.

Or maybe move into this century with 2 tunnels... In reality what they should do IMHO is 1 team leaves the field and refs verify they are all in their locker room and the next team leaves the field. Maybe 2-3 minutes difference. First team in the locker room comes out to warm up in the 2nd half and 2nd team comes out 2-3 minutes after them to warm up. Both teams get equal locker room time. It's not rocket science. Sooner or later if things stay the course there will be a big dust up in there. Imagine those old Miami teams that chirped non stop and had fights break out on the field before a game. You put those teams in the that tunnel and it will be an all out brawl. That tunnel is tight good luck getting folks past players brawling to break it up.

I can't believe this is still in the media. It was a big nothing burger. Some players in the tunnel at the same time were jawing at each other and there was nothing physical. Wow, alert the press. Hopefully CJF doesn't respond. Who cares if Harbaugh gets the last word, it's a stupid story and there wasn't much of an altercation to bother worrying about. Yes, Franklin is right that having one tunnel for both teams will contribute to these sort of things but continuing to bring it up would just look silly. He responded to a question about it last week and that should be the last time he mentions it, hopefully. Of course some of the media will likely pounce at the opportunity to get a good Franklin vs. Harbaugh media tale stirring like we had with Jimbo and Saban in the offseason, so I won't be surprised if this nonsense continues to linger.

Leave it to "JimJim" to say this:

"I got bigger fish to fry than Coach Franklin's opinion on the halftime tunnel from a game ago"

AND THEN, 2 seconds later ...

begins giving his thoughts on Coach Franklin's opinion.

I agree... for pete's sake look at the miami vs fsu games that had massive brawls on the field during warm ups. This was nothing more than people barking at each other with maybe a few shoves. Happens in high school games as well. Media trying to make more out of it than there really is, they will of course just keep prodding Harbaugh and Franklin for more comments.

I find it hilarious that Franklin thought anyone at Michigan or the Big Ten for that matter would take him seriously. He's not really "that guy." If anything, I wouldn't be surprised if Michigan doesn't make the tunnel more narrow, go in first and then just stop in unison.

He marched in a BLM parade and invited Obama to be an honorary Captain, so what's up?
Yeah, I am confused as to the political angle as well. He is fervently pro-life which doesn't necessarily tip his political leanings.

how is this in anyway connected to politics? We are talking CFB. Until this came up, honestly, I didn't know any stadium in the modern era had one in/out for both teams. Since most stadiums have been getting updates over the years, I thought most probably would have isolated the teams.

I agree. I have no clue why it was brought up but stated a fact because facts do still matter.

Woofing at the opponents sees to be the one thing PSU does consistently under Franklin.
