Exactly right. And don't be surprised to see a few CF coached with NFL experience head back to the NFL'Interesting….I used to think CFB was the better gig but no way I’d want to be a big time CFB coach with the portal, NIL, etc.
The great thing about the NFL is once you are in the club you can stay there forever. There are so many former HC's floating around the NFL as assistants. If they want their names will eventually circle back to the top of many lists. If you don't mind the carrousel you don't ever have to get off.Interesting….I used to think CFB was the better gig but no way I’d want to be a big time CFB coach with the portal, NIL, etc.
Remember that he took a pay cut this year too and was applauded here for it.With all the recent craziness now introduced into the college game, it does feel as though many college coaches may start to listen when NFL teams come calling.
I find it hard to believe they'd bring him in with the way it ended in Houston. But then again, that owner would be the one to pull something like that. Also heard BO'B to the Jags....
Also heard BO'B to the Jags....
Probably a negotiating tacticRemember that he took a pay cut this year too and was applauded here for it.
He wouldn't do that he's a good guy!Probably a negotiating tactic
If UM still wants him they have to return the money lost plus money up big time. Jimmy's laughing now.Remember that he took a pay cut this year too and was applauded here for it.
The article also says Raiders, where his coaching career began. So what options are there for him?
Jacksonville? Only one open
Chicago?
Carolina?
Seattle?
BOB back to the B1G?
That's right - I forgot about that opening. The article also says Raiders, where his coaching career began.
I believe he meant Jim Caldwell, whom I posted was interviewing for the Jax position.Harbaugh is 58. This fact doesn’t negate your larger point but he’s not older than I am (mid-60s).
Lol, thanks. It all makes sense now. Tom, where the hell is my delete button?I believe he meant Jim Caldwell, whom I posted was interviewing for the Jax position.
Harbaugh also just went to NCAA Playoffs.. Jim Caldwell hasn't coached since 2019. I love Jim Caldwell, but taking off the BW Glasses, there are tons of coaches and coordinators that would be a better fit for jacksonville IMO.Harbaugh is 58. This fact doesn’t negate your larger point but he’s not older than I am (mid-60s). I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just a simple typo on your part.
Leftwich makes too much sense for the position. They'll probably try to lure 75 year old Tom Coughlin out of retirement.I like Jim, but honestly this seems like a dumb move. He is in his upper 60's and hasn't been a HC in like 5 years and hasn't coached at all in 3. jacksonville really needs someone like a Kliff Kingsbury. Young and energetic.
That's the one making the most noise. The article also says Raiders, where his coaching career began.
I don't see Seattle or Carolina opening up. The obvious ones are Jacksonville, Las Vegas, and likely Chicago. For maybes I would add Denver, Minnesota, NYG, and maybe Houston. So what options are there for him?

Carolina will def open up.. They started 3-0 and are now what 5-11? Word is he has lost the team. I am actually surprised he hasn't been fired yet.I don't see Seattle or Carolina opening up. This year could be one of the smallest turnovers of HC's in a while.
Yeah, I expect Rhule to get the axe. Nobody survives a “lost the locker room” indictment, idle rumor or not.Carolina will def open up.. They started 3-0 and are now what 5-11? Word is he has lost the team. I am actually surprised he hasn't been fired yet.
Houston probably not, it's a mess with the Watson situation, they knew Culley was going to struggle. One thing is Davis Mills has played better lately. I don't see them firing another coach.
These teams at some point are going to have to give a guy a few years to work through this. I just don't see how firing a coach every year is progress on teams that draft top 5 every season.
I could also see him stepping down, as I've heard whispers that he doesn't love the NFL.Yeah, I expect Rhule to get the axe. Nobody survives a “lost the locker room” indictment, idle rumor or not.
