''I do not have any knowledge or information regarding the University of Michigan football program illegally stealing signals, nor have I directed any staff member or others to participate in an off-campus scouting assignment. I have no awareness of anyone on our staff having done that or having directed that action.''
Yeah, right. He's never done anything wrong and has a clean record.

He's got a career as a politician. "I have no recollection of that", "Not that I'm aware of", "Not to my knowledge"

That said, I like Harbaugh. We are aligned philosophically on issues that matter.

Just makes me wonder how many shady things he's done that have not been uncovered and questioned.
His name seems to be involved in mischief quite often.
And Finebaum is defending him, what does that say?

He’s the kid in class who absolutely believes he’s smarter than the teacher. However, in this case, he probably is.

Making it out to be.
It's illegal to scout an opponent in person. He was scouting in person with the intent to steal signs which is not illegal. If he was just scouting in person, probably not a huge deal.

Huh? He was at the other teams practice? Or his representative was.

A staff member is who was scouting future opponents. If they connect the activity back to Harbaugh, well
they'll try to get him too if they can.

Sounds like a bigger deal than that and conference members are filing accusations against Michigan.

It's a huge deal. I'm saying that if he was only scouting in person, it likely wouldn't have been a huge deal. Scouting in person with the intent to steal signs makes it a big deal.

Why is sign stealing "illegal"?
Actually read a good post about this. Every team is trying to steal signals. If they weren’t, there wouldn’t be such elaborate mechanisms for calling plays. There would be need to do that if you weren’t worried about teams stealing.

Not sure why this is a big deal.

It's easy to be accused by anyone of that, especially when the opponent's play-calling is predictable and boring.

Seems to be a pretty sophisticated system for Harbaugh to know nothing. Easy to to condone it plead and innocent as well.
