Ok. So by my calculations of who all lost ahead of 17 Clemson and 18 South Carolina, the new rankings SHOULD put Clemson at 14 and South Carolina at 15.

And our game will be the ONLY top 15 vs top 15 next week. Only 1 other rank vs rank game (Texas vs A&M) In the final week.

So….when picking a field of 12, and in the final week you have ONE top 15 vs top 15 game, how does the winner of THAT game miss a field of 12?? Is another top 15 win not enough to move Clemson up 2 spots or us 3?? They would deserve it and so would we. Their SOS is 30th, ours 7th. Indianas is 106th, and they’re gonna get in over the Palmetto Bowl winner. Somehow.

The comittee sees this obvious problem. And thats why I predict that, inexplicably, both Clemson and South Carolina gets hosed. They’re gonna try to jump us with Arizona State and possibly even Illinois and Iowa State. That way we both stay out of the top 15, and they avoid my scenario which CLEARLY shows the winner next week should be in

If they jump us, especially us but also Clemson, with Arizona State, ASU is likely in the Big12 championship. Thats how they justify it. Theyll play Iowa State or BYU, creating a top 20 game in the CCG week. Meanwhile us and Clemson arent actually playing and kinda get forgotten in that 16-20 ranking no mans land. They’ll slide Bama and Ole Miss down to 15th or so to make a nice barrier bc with fresh losses and unranked opponents next week, no one will argue for those 2 teams anymore.

The math gets more complicated than just the top 12 with the conference champs getting automatic bids. Plus our SOS has been affected by the teams we played having losses now. Bama has 3 losses but beat us. Aggies victory does not look as good with their loss. Ole Miss getting beat by the Gators is another complication. Good so many ahead of us lost but it is a mixed bag.

Agree, its a mess. If not for that one referee vs LSU, the most crooked referee in history, we are in. BUT, that said, perception matters and if they rank Clemson 14, South Carolina 15 this week, as they should, all sports fans will see the logic that in the final week, only one top 15 showdown happens, and the winner of that should almost guarantee a selection in a field of 12

Theyll screw us and Clemson on Tuesday just to prevent that

All of the P5 conference winners must be in the top-12 for us to have any real chance. And even then, they'd have to pick us over several other 3-loss SEC schools... some of whom have much bigger reputations. Small chance, but...

If we beat the Tiggers soundly, then the pressure becomes immense given all the ''hottest 3-loss team in America'' publicity and add in the fact that the screw job against LSU has become high profile and corroborated by many analysts scrutinizing SEC officiating.
Just win.

Yes. The "college football gods" owe the Cocks a big one. They have for a while. It's time they pay up.

I just want USC to beat Clemson.

That is something to savor all off-season long. And, the committee can’t take that away if the Gamecocks win.
