There’s just no way any self-respecting person that actually knows anything about college football can feel pride over making into the playoff the way Clemson did. I mean you have to have absolutely no shame to sit there and beat your chest as if it was “earned.”

Where is the mission to get the 12 best teams. You don’t get that with auto bids. We are past that. This is the system we have. You are bat crap crazy if your really believe that. That’s my point there isn’t a reason for the uproar. I like the setup. I don’t think it’s right to compare conference to conference, therefore the AQ’s should exist. Winning your conference championship should account for something. If you take the AQ’s away it makes the championships meaningless. So you are not understanding what I am saying.
I think the auto bids are terrible. It literally rewards teams who don't have as tough of a road.
Why should winning your conference account for anything? And I mean that honestly. The conferences are not created equally. This isn’t professional sports where the entire system is set up to create parity. Why should winning a conference championship automatically qualify you?
And now that the bracket has been revealed that confirms it, the conference championships are essentially meaningless anyway outside of giving undeserving teams a shot. The committee has just destroyed entertaining OOC games, further ruining the sport.
Outside of Carolina, if you think this set up is good then you are absolutely insane. I’m sorry. SMU is still ranked above Clemson even though they quite literally just played last night. There is ZERO justification for that other than “we want SMU in the field too so we need to rank them in a place that allows that.” How and why should we give any credibility to a committee that does that? How can we trust any of the rankings at any point throughout the season?
