ever with the exception of Jack. Al Hrabrosky, the Cardinals FSN color commentator used the word when a baserunner advanced to third unmolested on a botched play. Never really been sure it was a real word and Jack deserved the benefit of the doubt. Didnt really fit this scenerio as well as a rb busting through the hole to the endzone unmolested.

His big schtick was to psyche himself up behind the pitcher's mound, then slap the ball into the glove and go pitch. When he was a dominant closer, this was very intimidating. However, when he started losing his stuff, it was just funny.

In 1977, he was getting shelled pretty good against the Cubs. He goes into his psyche-up, pounds the ball, turns to the mound, and there's Vern Rapp (the manager) waiting to pull him out.

What a great off season reference. When I was nine I tried to pull off his routine behind the mound one time. Can't remember if my friends, my coach or my Dad kicked my *** for it, but I don't recall doing it more than once.
