Herbie has a little bit of scarlet and gray bleed through in the post game. He talked about CJ Stroud having to carry the load with the missing players - i.e. #18 who will be all pro in a few years. there is no doubt that if tOSU is 100% healthy vs UGA 100% healthy that tOSU probably would win. I would say that if tOSU were 100% v UMich 100% and Stroud was running like last night that UMich would not have won the BIG.

This is probably true for many teams. BAMA lost a couple games with several key players out, and one missing their QB. At 100% Bama may be better than all of them.

If Herbie wants to look at the Penn State v tOSU game, we had a RT backup (whose play impacted several key moments), key OG out and another playing injured. Our OL was a mess. tOSU was missing JSI but they had Henderson. Otherwise they were in good shape. If we were at 100% on the OL, he might want to comment that maybe tOSU does not win that game.

teams are different based on who is available. coach speak may say next man up, but the team is not the same. down the stretch we had a make shift OL and our top WR out. Imagine our team with the OL at 100% - not sure we ever saw that the entire season.

Your problem stems from listening to Herbstreit say anything beyond, "I am an idiot and it's a good thing that someone gave me this job because there is nothing else I am capable of doing."

During a press conference Tuesday, Muschamp, who is Georgia’s co-defensive coordinator, was asked about the 1993 Citrus Bowl, in which the Bulldogs and Buckeyes met for the first and only time so far. The former South Carolina head coach played safety for Georgia and he was getting ready to face Herbstreit, who was Ohio State’s quarterback.

Muschamp recalled how he saw Herbstreit throwing a football at a luncheon before the bowl game and immediately knew that the Bulldogs could win.

Nobody in his industry or role has had an easier glide path up than Kirk. Nobody in America has made more money uttering the word "edge" than him. The easy over per game is 50 times, and if there are more than 5 sacks by a team 100 is not out of the question. I would love for Franklin to screw with him just once by putting nothing but 1 Technique tackle on the line for a series just to silence him.

Not only that, but he made reference multiple times that Henderson was Heisman candidate back in August. Maybe I missed him being on Heisman watch lists, but I don't ever remember him getting that kind of hype before the season started.

Herbie wasn't wrong. I believe JSN, Henderson, and Stroud were all on the watch lists, preseason AAs.

The issue is, he doesn't make these excuses for other teams. He's entirely too rah-rah for the Buckeyes. He's Gus Johnson level excited when they do something positive and Eoyore level down-in-the-dumps when it goes bad.

And, if any roster was capable of taking these hits, it's OSU (and UGA and Bama). I don't want to hear it. Day tucked his tail in scoring range their final 2 drives and Kirby out coached him by blowing up the plays and using pressure.

Alabama could beat any team in the playoffs. And Notre Dame should just be declared national champions for the next decade or two because Rudy belongs on Mount Rushmore and their insufferable fan base all say that Notre Dame is the only school that does it the right way.

Notre Lame is a joke! Their ‘fans’ suck, their stadium and game day atmosphere sucks. Hell, Rudy sucked too.

Back in August Three guys from the OSU were going to split the Hesiman three ways Stroud, Henderson and Smith Injigba first time ever in college football history.

I'm sure Herbie failed to mention all the injuries that Georgia had.

I am not saying Herbie is perfect, but he is a heck of a lot better than most of the announcers we have to listen to. He is less of a homer than a lot of other football guys, and IMHO, he is generally (not to say 100%) positive towards PSU even when others are not.

I didn’t hear Herbies post game comments but told my wife this AM that I though tOSU would have beat UGA had Marvin Harrison Jr not been hurt by that targeting no call.

Herbie is a multi millionaire and continues to be paid a lucrative sum to work "big games" and render his opinions. He hasn't impacted the outcome of a game since 1993. Our opinions are shared here for free.

The Gameday crew were just talking about double digit losses in their two games to UM, OSU. Herbie actually corrected them re the OSU game and said that was close competitive and Penn State defense played well in the game.

At least blackledge keeps it fairly neutral - Herby is 100% homer when it comes to OSU and PSU fans give him a pass because he gives us some props but only when we arent playing OSU.

I actually agree with herbie-if Henderson would have been a no go against us, I think we would have won, he is a big time player that your defense has to respect, I think we defend their passing game much better if there is no threat of Henderson.

Pollock to smart today, “you said you didn’t play your best game against osu”. Pollock translation. Bucs were lucky to close.

and yet even today on game day they said 44 careered it. Lol. They will never give that angle to psu of players being hurt.

you're correct...Herbie always says good things about PSU...he even started the whole "best student section in America" really...he really isn't that much of a homer for OSU...i'd even say he goes out of his way to pump up and say nice things about OSU opponents...some people here are just looking to be offended or have an agenda against the guy

Yeah. Zero sympathy here. Injuries are a part of the game and Ohio State usually has 5 stars as Frosh back-ups for every position OR a few. Stars in the cupboard. They are usually the beneficiary of any season long attrition rates.

I don't listen to commentators. Just turn off the sound. It's pretty easy to see what's going on. Try it, especially if for some reason what's being said is deemed objectionable.

Herbie is an unapologetic OSU shill and apologist. He should run for political office since he always says whatever he thinks the venue he is at wants to hear. Says PSU is "right there" when asked about them, but "loves" Utah football when in Salt Lake City.
