i love these kinda knocks on a coach, like he missed the obvious talent in front of him. sure stans missed on this one, and about 320 other division 1 basketball coaches too.<div>
</div><div>great story, wish he had come to msu cause he did turn into a great player, but to say stans missed him, well that's a little misleading, cause a lot of people missed on him.</div><div>
</div><div>not trying to defend stans (trust me there are tons of things you can attack), but picking a random kid with no scholarship offers out of HS and saying that stans whiffed on him cause we were one of the few schools to show passing interest is misleading. </div>

As i said, i remember reading that we were interested in Butler, looking him up, and questioning why we were going after him so late. Back then, he seemed like he was going to just be a late signee that would be a project/small role playerand not amount to much.

You are correct, pretty much everyone missed on him. And i will even give Stans credit since he was one of the few to even persue him, much less offer him.
There, i credited Stans, and its a legitimate credit.

...but he did still miss on Butler. He missed on him the first time around and the second time around. That is simple reality.
