Bill is a legend and a class act. I wish him well.
Bill was on the Steve Jones podcast on January 10, 2024. He had joined Steve's show at least a half-dozen times before. In welcoming " the rotten liar" to his show, Steve called him "the legendary and outstanding play by play voice of the Steelers". I guess Steve doesn't harbor your bitterness. He was a rotten liar who denigrated Paterno.
That would depend on how recently he drank the booze. If right before it's possible he wasn't legally over the limit at the time of the accident or while driving. Unlikely, but possible. It's also possible he drank after arriving home, which is common for people to have a nightcap or two after a night out..16 percent alcohol after her arrived home. What would it have been at the store?
Nor do I. I have looked online and found nothing. It is likely Bill did say something, and, if so, some actual quotes would be helpful. Allegations without them are meaningless.I don't remember his comments relative to JoePa. I am sure that he would play to his local Fandom and probably follow the national media's storyline.
If memory serves me, he graduated from Pittsburgh Central Catholic and Duquesne. Got a good local gig at WTAE and, in typical Yinzer fashion, never left home.
Got promoted to Pitt football and hoops and the Steelers as play-by-play man. Hung in there for a real long time. Congratulations, Bill.
Played softball against him and the WTAE No-Stars back in the late 70s. He was a gentleman throughout and it was an enjoyable day. I believe that we all departed the ball field to a favorite local establishment and had a better time.
I used to love watching his sports report on WTAE after we would beat Pitt. ‘77, ‘81 &’82 were especially fun.Bill is a legend and a class act. I wish him well.
I agree. Especially 81', the 48-14 game. I was at Pitt Stadium that day and told my wife (a Pitt grad but Penn State Fan) when we trailed 14-0, "if Pitt scores again before we do we are leaving". They never scored again period. It was, perhaps, the sweetest win in any game I ever attended.I used to love watching his sports report on WTAE after we would beat Pitt. ‘77, ‘81 &’82 were especially fun.
