Mustain has almost a whole year as a starting college QB...a redshirt to mature and learn the system....and the best he can do is 3rd string? He's looking at possibly never making another college start...

b/c Nutt couldn't make things work with Mustain and mallets not eligible this year. There is no one that thinks "damn, I really want Casey Dick as my starting QB"

I would think anyone that keeps up with college football would know there is a huge difference b/w a coach sitting someone behind Dick and a coach sitting someone behind the talent at USC.

The overlooked fact is Casey Dick WAS A BETTER QUARTERBACK than Mustain. Here's their stats from that year.

PASSING GP Effic Cmp-Att-Int Pct Yds TD Lng Avg/G
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Casey Dick 10 125.72 65-132-6 49.2 991 9 50 99.1
Mitch Mustain 12 120.53 69-132-9 52.3 894 10 70 74.5

Notice that on the same number of attempts, Dick had 100 more yards, a better TD-INT ratio and a better passer rating. Not to mention that, from all appearances, Dick was a better leader than Mustain. And Coach is right when he said that Dick is head and shoulders better than any QB we have right now. I'd add that he's also better than any we've had this century.

my comment was that nobody would really wants Casey Dick as their QB. I doubt many state fans are clamoring for the guy either. He's not the kind of qb Im looking for. Hell, he had the 2 best RBs in the country and went 4-4 just like Wesley Carroll....and as we know by now, Carroll had no running game to work with with Dixon at 3.7 ypc

But as pointed out...you got your shots in againts our offense.

One trick pony

whether or not you think Dick is better than Mustain, to use the fact that he is 3rd team at USC is a ridiculous measure.

you blaming UPig going 4-4 on the offense that was one of the country's and SEC's best...which was led by him...while they had two great RB's, they also had to throw it sometime and he threw 18 TD's and only 10 picks

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say our QB's wont match his stats in the upcoming season either

In the 2 most glaring losses of the year--home games against Auburn and Kentucky, he went 25 for 53 with 1 TD pass and 3 Ints and 268 yards passing. Their offense average 10 points a game in those 2 games.

Not to mention he went 12 for 22 for 140 yards 2 picks and no TDs against TN but that's not a game I would expect them to win.
