In addition, the fans can vote for the aforementioned candidates in the below article. Votes must be submitted by 5 pm CST, Friday, March 24. (I have no idea why they show CST, when daylight savings time has kicked in for most of the country.)

I forgot about the fan voting portion. Just another example of where the Hodge is trying to do too many things.

It's supposed to be an annual award for the best college wrestler with the following criteria:

1. Record
2. Number of pins
3. Dominance
4. Past credentials
5. Quality of competition
6. Sportsmanship/Citizenship
7. Heart

Number four tries to make it a career acheivement award.

Numbers six & seven tries to make it a humanitarian award

The fan voting tries to make it a fan favorite award.

That's because this is the last shot for Paris. Carter still has another chance or two to "earn" one.
Parris had a great year. He was dominate. While everyone is getting better, he got a lot better in one year. By the end of the year he was destroying Cass and handling Kerk with ease. The same can easily be said for Carter......, definitely separated from the field but not to the same degree.

I am not close enough to comment much on O'Conner or the Pitt guy. 197 had a ton of top talent. So did 157 and 157 had this young Haines kid. 3 years from now, O'Conner's win will be the biggest win..............

Agree with your points about Parris. The biggest "improvement" in his success this year is that Gable Steveson decided not to come back.

He was dominant...but yes basically simply because Gable didn't come back. Even with his "improvements", Gable would have run the table on him again.

Gable would have still killed him, but one cannot play what ifs.
