The saddest part to me is all the personal relationships that were just trashed. You'd like to think on some level he actually cared about the kids he worked with. Many of them probably considered him a good mentor and friend.
Yes, but I still would like our local media to ask Dabo about the relationship and let him respond and confirm.

Well, do a quick inquiry on his background and you will find that he is not smart.
Even if this is staged, what of it. He stages the incidents, and then makes the decisions to video and post ????

It happens all the time. If a coach is a recruiting a player, sure, you'll let his personal coach come hang out at the practice facility and give him a hat and a shirt.

Anyway, I didn't make it much through the video. My first thought was that it was so over the top as to be a joke of some type. But I can't seriously argue that, I think the dude just lost his brain.
That's not true! It's a very light skinned Black person. I've been called that and I'm not of mixed race, but you're right, it does have a negative connotation.

Our local media reaches all the time with our program, and Dabo has been known to plant reaching questions with certain of his media pals, when it is something he wants to answer that will benefit him and make Clemson look good.
Dabo is a big boy, makes a lot of $$$, what is the big deal if, he gets asked?
Clemson assistant AD has already replied. College coaches and programs obviously cannot be expected to know and answer for the character of every peripheral person who visits their facilities.
Clemson Assistant Athletic Director for Football Communications Ross Taylor told The Daily Beast that Taylor was always brought to the campus as a guest with a prospective student, but he said the university didn’t have a formal relationship with Taylor.
“He's not employed by us, hasn't been employed by us. Frankly, he was just here as a guest of high school kids that were looking into potentially coming [to Clemson],” the assistant athletics director said. “So, we really have no association with him.”

Ironic, I was just being harassed about this by a Clemson friend. I've often remarked on how Dabo seems to have someone in the media set up a question for him, he told me Staley copied him.

This guy has ridden the backs of a lot of black kids and turned on them because of their color and his hatred for blacks. Sad.
Do what I do for a living. You’d be shocked at the stupid things even supposedly smart people will do or try to do. It is amazing some times.
You would be surprised about what people will say or do and what they perceive to be a safe space. Perhaps those outraged by this will be more understanding to those who are subject to this type of hateful language and not try to discredit them when they us their platform to call it out.

Business and tax law. Everything from continuing to deduct depreciation on assets you no longer own to failing to remit withholding taxes…and sometimes worse. That’s what most of my appearances in tax court are regarding. Even had a client who attempted to claim his children as dependents as deductions although they were in their 30s and married….didn’t think the IRS would notice.
I agree, with a caveat: this man’s language is extreme. Obviously this kind of racism exists, but it’s GOOD that his language is shocking to us. That tells you it’s not nearly as commonplace or pervasive as it once was. This man represents a dying breed. While I detest everything this man said, I would equally detest for people to present this as commonplace.
I already read one article which essentially said that this man represents every white athletic coach in America, which is absurd.

That’s not entirely true. POC call light skinned people of color red as well.
It’s obviously a derogatory term in its creation but it is used positively by younger generations. I’d say younger than 35 right now it’s a pretty common slang word for a light skinned person of color.
"Lighter coloured blacks" is mixed race. That means the individual has both African and European ancestry. Maybe some native American thrown in there too.
It means they are as much black as they are white.

I'm at a loss. I've never heard anything so caricaturishly racist outside TV shows or movies. To think there are real live human beings in this day and age who act and think like that is apalling and a little frightening. I wonder why he would record a video of his own private musings in the car though. Maybe he was tired of hiding. Maybe he was tired of a lot of things. I don't know. I've heard some pretty terrible stuff, but this blows it all away. I thought the guy at the hospital making jokes about black people in the elevator was about the worst. I just... I don't get it. People are people. But if there are more people like this guy around who have no problem telling folk what they think, no wonder many black people don't like white people. Why is there so much hate in people's hearts?
Something about it doesn't add up and I'd love to hear an explanation from the guy, but I'm sure that'll never happen. Even the small handful of people left in America who believe the way this guy believes knows enough not to broadcast their views this publicly.
What I hope does not happen, but what probably will happen, is folks will latch onto this guy and say he's symptomatic of overall race relations in this country. Nothing could be further from the truth. His words rightfully shock, disgust and appall us for the very reason that he is an outlier in regards to race relations.
Still think there is financial motivation involved in some way and he is being used. He has obviously been entrepreneurial in his life, so cutting that life line makes no sense IMHO.
It will likely remain a mystery.
For his sake and the sake of all those who trusted him, my hope is that he will be struck by the awfulness and ugliness of hearing his own words. It's one thing to say it. It's another to hear it played back for you. I'm all about forgiveness, but I'm not sure what the road to redemption is here. Step 1 would be publicly acknowledging the atrocity of your words and admitting that you're racist. I don't know what Step 2 is. You can't just ask forgiveness after saying such vile things. HIs only real hope is the gospel, as this is a heart issue, but I'm sure he'd probably claim to be a Christian.
It's messed up and some damage simply cannot be undone.

There has been nothing but unanimous condemnation, and rightfully so.
The very simple answer could be, he has shown himself, and in his own warped reality thought these posts would be considered satire.
We are not dealing with a rational individual judging from his past.
Taylor is a former Northside Middle School teacher and coach, and in 2007, he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of influencing a witness.
He was accused that same year of stalking and harassing his ex-fiancée, who was also a teacher.
Houston County Schools fired Taylor from his teaching and coaching jobs in 2007, and he was banished from the county.

My thoughts exactly. He's simply a dumbass bigot....no other rationale makes sense. And they do exist and probably more than most of us would believe....blocked two former HS friends on FB because they used the "N" word in several posts.
One thing is odd to me. He obviously sent those videos to somebody and then they were leaked by a 3rd party. He must have been VERY VERY confident that the person he sent those videos to held the same beliefs as he did. The question is: how did the videos get from the person to whom he sent them to the person who actually leaked them? I can't imagine you'd send videos like to someone who weren't 100% absolutely certain held your same beliefs.

Agree 100%! His statements are ignorant and racist. But why the sudden appearance and no history to back it up!
Which makes him a perfect target as a patsy. Obviously not a clear thinker. Easy money makes people do crazy things.
I'm just taking the wait and see approach and looking at all angles instead of calling him a "dumba** racist who has lost his mind" right out of the gate.
Jumping to quick conclusions on reported "news" events like this have proven to be regretful a lot lately after all the facts are known. (Smollett comes to mind immediately for staged events for financial gain)
