Honestly don’t know if we will beat Jacksonville State

We could just forfeit. Losing 0-0 is better than getting beat by 10.

I didn't realize that Rich Rodriguez was coaching there. He did really well at W. Virginia, pretty good at Arizona, and was a bust at Michigan. It looks like he has the other Gamecocks playing pretty good ball against some decent teams. We should out-talent them, but we'll have to see how our team gets up for an opponent that really shouldn't be on the same field. If we come out flat, it could be App State/Citadel all over again.

They have 7 wins and will come in fired up and confident to pick off some low-hanging SEC fruit. We are just desperate for a win.

Confidence vs desperation.

We are a very bad team.

They are not.
They are not a really good team… beat a bunch of mediocre group of 5 teams, the only 2 teams they have played with winning record, they lost by double digits. (Coastal and Liberty)
Conversely, we have not played a team that has a losing record and all power 5 sans Furman. 2 different schedules.

I never said they were a really good team. What I do know is we are terrible team and they are not.

I don’t care about schedules. We have two wins: Furman and a terrible Mississippi State. Outside of those games we have been competitive in one other game in which we crapped the bed in nearly historic fashion.

We ought to win, and we should win. But it is a game we could certainly lose if we did not play well.

I know the general mindset is for fans to be ballsy coming into games like this, but this team has shown nothing for us to be ballsy about.

Maybe I have been watching a different team this year. The team I have seen has been completely non-competitive in four of our losses. We did play absolutely out of our minds for one half against Georgia, but then did not even belong on the same field with them in the second half. The loss we were most competitive in was Florida, but that game was mostly marked by us having a staggering and nearly historic collapse to totally crap that game away.

I hope and we should, but not if we play poorly.

We are a terrible P5 team and they are a pretty good G5 team. It won’t set off any shockwaves if we lose.
I don’t think we’re terrible. We’re not very good, but not terrible either. Still think 6-6 is just as likely as 4-8.

6-6 could be a curse. This team really doesn't need to play a bowl game against a team with a winning record.

We are 2-6. If that's not terrible, I don't know what is. Sure, we've had a tough schedule, but our fans have been citing schedule strength since the dawn of time. At some point, you just have to win the games. Besides that, none of our losses have been flukes, resulting from shooting ourselves in the foot or a freak play or the ball bouncing the other way. We've lost each game because we are fundamentally not good.

I can't possibly imagine what anyone has seen from this team to make us think we can win our last 4 games. Besides, I don't know if going 6-6 and landing some lame-o bowl is good or not. Getting a bowl bid would only be an indictment of how laughably flawed the bowl system is, but it would be blown up as an achievement and that the process is working. It's not

I wish I had a dollar every time a Gamecock fan has said that over the last 50 years and has been wrong.

If I had a nickel for every time forced overconfidence by our fans translated into dominance on the field….

I honestly was thinking this too. Especially with Rich Rodriguez being their Coach. I have strongly disliked him when he made Negative Comments about Lou Holtz when he was the Tater OC under Tommy Bowden.
Then the Supposed/Made Up Job interview for our HC job by Ray Tanner.

I don't believe it happened. If it did Rodriguez is Classless.
