It’s like Dak said: Had the 2-pt conversion been successful, Dallas would have gone down and gotten a FG to win.

I highly doubt they would do that. If it was the last play of the game with no time left….maybe but you don’t know what Dallas could have done with the time remaining.

You could print that article after every NFL game.

You might as well print the article, “The House could impeach the President, and the Senate could convict.”

lol. What a dumb article. Not to mention that 70’was announced. Why didn’t Campbell throw a fit at that point…..or just kick an xp after that.

Yeah. This whole “controversy” is a nothing. Now if they had let the play stand, that would have been a real controversy. Lions bring in 2 linemen. #70 is announced as being eligible. So you cover him. You don’t cover #68. Why would you? He’s not announced as eligible and you have no way of knowing what he may have said to the ref.

Ref 17ed up an announced the wrong player. He should have owned up to it. It doesn't matter that Skipper reported earlier in the game, he didn't that play and was announced as eligible. Ref said 70 instead of 68. I hate the NFL and it protecting ref brain farts.

We know the overturning is going to happen, but Dallas should have saved the last TO they took so they'd had if if need to get in FG range (which wouldn't be terribly hard with their kicker).

Don't get me started on Dallas throwing the ball on 2nd down. McCarthy may be dumbest person in the NFL.

I'd like to overturn the NFC championship game 2019.

The Saints would have given New England much better competition in that SuperBowl than the Rams did.

Not supposed to be able to tackle the receiver way before the ball arrives. If that was legal every cover defender would just blow the receiver up every pass play.

3 players talking to the ref - 58, 68, and 70. Which one of yall knows what was said?
Decker (68) said he reported and the referee says 70 did so it’s a matter of either someone is lying or there was simply a very bad mistake made.

I seriously doubt anyone is lying. It was a mistake. However, when the ref announced #70 eligible, the Lions should have called a time out (if they had one) or taken the delay penalty. You can't just run a play throwing the ball to a lineman who hasn't been announced as an eligible receiver.

Absolutely agree. When 70 was announced as eligible and 68 wasn’t, that should have triggered the Lions to act.

Anyone in the media that is saying that 68 didn’t need to bring attention to himself to make sure he was reported as eligible, it’s not like it’s a secret that defense isn’t made aware of. Do these folks not understand the game that they’re paid millions to talk about?

The stupidity and laziness of many sports announcers never ceases to amaze me. Of course #68 scored. Who covers an ineligible lineman downfield?

Agree, the eligible player gets announced to the defense so bringing attention to yourself is a non-factor. No way that play could have been allowed to count given the defense was told the wrong player was eligible even though it was a screw up by the refs. Strange how the Lions weren't upset though when the refs screwed up the tripping call. What goes around comes around.

The tripping call against Dallas was actually the lions player. It should have been 1st down Dallas with the chance to run clock and burn Lions TOs....assuming McCarthy doesn't call 3 pass plays ****
