What's that thing about counting chickens....?? Let's just get a 28 pt lead minimum before we trot Ashford out there.

Yes, 28 pt. lead. That should be enough to account for a collapse and at least 2 Beamer bad game management decisions. :giggle: ;)

Ashford trucked Akron. Could probably do the same to Wofford.

Yeah, running out your backups to start start begs for disaster. Donā€™t get cocky (sorry, could not avoid the pun). Just go out and treat it as business as usual. Hopefully we could have the starters in to start the third quarter.

Yeah, ppl forget this is exactly what Spurrier did at Florida and that's why they were so good. Ppl thought he was running up the score......and I suppose in a way he was but he did it so he could put in the 2nd string and he'd just keep calling aggressive plays with the backups in there. Everybody got real world game experience at UF under Spurrier during their hay days.

Most ppl hated it. I understood it. Even then.

We *should* be able to win the game sitting all of the 1's. But yeah, we definitely need to start out business as usual, and hopefully get the backups in the game after the half. Beating up on inferior opponents and getting the backups loads of meaningful playing time is also a big part of what fueled the rise for the team upstate. You build quality, experienced depth, which only helps.

My daughter is at Wofford and I've watched them. They're below average in the SoCon. They play ugly football that's hard to watch even when they're winning.

Rest Rocket too. Like to see Oscar Adaway take the bulk of the carries. Still need to throw some to the receivers to keep building the confidences.

At some point in the game you will see the kids that has never set foot on the field and this is their last time ever being at a game at Williams Brice finally get a few game snaps.

Should.

I recall two times we played Wofford when SOS was here and they gave us all we wanted. One game we either didn't score after halftime or maybe just a FG. In the other the game was extremely close at half.

If there's one thing SC teams are great at, year-in and year-out, across the entire sporting spectrum (with the possible exception of WBB), it's playing to the level of their competition. I would NOT be surprised to see a 31-20 type game against Wofford. Neither would I be surprised by a 63-6 outcome. But the likelihood of me biting my nails at some point during the game on Saturday is higher than not. šŸ˜„

This is not like those old Wofford teams. They've decided to modernize the offense and it may work one day but that day has yet to arrive.
