Fans wanna do it, I don't care. Not in favor of players doing it. Kind of like stomping on the opposing team's logo at midfield. We would certainly be pissed about that.
I have no problem with our players doing the gator chomp when we score on UF.
I would hope Beamer wouldn't seek out players that stomp our logo and confront them. That's stupid and soft. I hope to see many horns down from our players when we play them.
There are some inaccuracies here.
From my understanding, they were doing the horns down in the handshake line. If true, that is classless. No way around that. You don't gloat to your opponent in the handshake line. I guess if you want to just as a team on your own sideline in the aftermath of the game, that's one thing. Postgame handshakes are supposed to be for a show of sportsmanship.
Also, your analogy of Beamer seeking players out is inaccurate. The Texas coach didn't hunt anyone down to confront them. He commented to them as they passed in the handshake line that that wasn't the time for the horns down, which is obviously true. How is it ok to showboat in the handshake line but not be confronted about it in the handshake line?
The Texas coach took umbrage not with the horns down itself, but the timing of it, again, when there was supposed to be a show of sportsmanship.
I can tell you one thing, if we ever did beat Texas in football and our players were doing the horns down to the Texas players after the game during the postgame handshake, you better believe Beamer would address it and say it was wrong. Zero doubts there.
I don't understand this current generation that thinks people should be able to do/say whatever they want and nobody can say anything to them about it.

Let me it put it to you this way: If we played Texas in basketball and lost and the Texas players were doing the hook 'em horns to our players in the handshake line, you don't think you'd be a little pissed? Don't bother lying b/c I know the answer.
Players acting low class is a reflection on their coach in my opinion. If our players were doing the horns down in the handshake line or to the Texas players after the game, I'd want someone to challenge Beamer on it.
The athletes should be gentlemen and show good sportsmanship. If the fans want to be boorish, that is a different story.
It was a close game decided in the last 30 seconds of the game. The players were doing it in front of their bench right after the game. This is a nothing burger. Maybe TX shouldn't suck.
They were on the court, in front of their bench, doing it to each other. The handshakes hadn't even started yet.
To answer your earlier question, Clemson's players planted their flag on our logo this year. I didn't post a single comment bc I don't care. But I do hope out plays dive for knees this year.

Horns down is for petulant losers. I pull for Texas. Unlimited money, terrific school and great town. They will be far more successful in the SEC than us. Those criticizing Texas for a superiority complex only evidence their massive ignorance.
Only halfway kidding. Wiggins dove right for X’s knee last year. It looked bad. Thank God it wasn’t. We were told by Clem fans it wasn’t a big deal and was 100% legal. So yeah, I think we need to perform 100% legal hits to their players’ knees.
I do think it’s something they should look into taking out of the game. You can’t dive at a QBs knee, but everyone else is fair game. It’s dumb. The Rams lost a TE with a torn ACL for this last week.
Exactly and X wasn’t the only one, looked like their game plan too me! Yeah, saw the rams player limp off the field but did’t see any follow up story!
Let’s not forget Albert Hanyesworth grabbing the huge Tenn flag after the game running down to the student section and waving it. He was also by him

It only stings them when they lose. It's stupid otherwise.
You obviate that crap by winning. It's the best countermeasure there is. When you lose, you deserve to be demeaned.
It really isn't always that way outside of the athletic arena. Other places, expressing yourself gets you fired or cancelled. Athletics don't amount to much anyway. I'm here way more for the interaction than for the sports.

Agree 100%. Had a couple of taters give me a spurs down after the game this year. I just smiled…we’ve arrived. We’re basically Texas now.
