There's no way Croom is on the hot seat with another winning season, or bowl eligible season. That shows a measure of consistency and that we're still headed in the right direction.

The real question is whether or not we consider Croom to be on the hot seat if he follows up 2007 with a losing season in 2008, 5-7 or worse. With that scenario, to me he should be on the hot seat, especially when you consider that the schedule appears easier. His job is to build us into a winning program, not have a fluke winning season and go back to losing the following year.</p>

How did he come up with this? He has Paterno pretty high, which kind of surprised me. Bobby Johnson being on the warmest seat of anyone in the SEC is also a little surprising to me as well, but I guess it makes sense if you think about it for a little while.

Steve Kragthorpe and Randy Shannon were kind of high on that list considering that they are about to start their second season.

I do think that Croom has to have a good season this year to stay off of the hot seat. I think he would be on it at least a little bit even with a 6-6 record depending on who we beat and who we lose to.

It's probably wishful thinking on my part, but I would like for Fulmer to be on the hot seat. He's always going to win seven or eight and do well enough to not get fired. You do have to wonder if Spurrier won't be on it if he keeps winning only 6 games a year and keeps missing bowls. That team collapsed last year. Brooks will probably leave on his own if it looks like his team is having a rough year.

Everyone else seems to have a coach that is either new or is generally well liked by their fans in the SEC.

Here's his line after 5 seasons. I would have fired him two years ago.
