Did you suggest the same when Paterno got road graded by Minnesota, Michigan and MSU in 1999 to end the season? How about those championship seasons that followed of 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2004? 17-29. Those were lovely years.

I did, actually suggested that he be fired if he didn't resign. After the abortion when Spankie and Curley went to Joe's house, I gave up. If that was the best the powers at PSU could do, I was okay with Joe staying for as long as he wanted.

I thought Joe should have retired 10 years before 2011. Having said that he was the biggest scapegoat I have ever seen over that incident.

FWIW:

You may (or may not) recall that contract was NEVER put before the Board for approval.

That contract was the work of a 5 member subgroup of the Board:

Matt Schuyler (then and current Chairman - and Board self appointee At Large Trustee)
David Kleppinger (then and current Vice Chair - and Governor Appointee)
Mary Lee Schneider (then and current Board self appointee - what they still call "Business and Industry Trustee")
Kathleen Casey (former Board self appointee, no longer on Board)
Dan Delligatti (then and current Governor Appointee)

The rest of the Board was shut out.

FWIW: No elected member of the Board was involved. You can make your own conjecture as to who were the driver(s) of that decision.
