I'm surprised they gave the SEC six of the top eight seeds AND spread the SEC teams around so that eight teams in Omaha is at least possible. I thought they would pair SEC teams in the super regional round as much as possible. They could have made eight SEC teams in Omaha impossible and six or seven very unlikely. It would have increased the likelihood of three or four, but you have to assume that's going to happen no matter what you do.

Every year people are like "The committee is so biased against the SEC, they'll surely screw us over!!!" but they never do, and the rest of the country always says "The committee is so biased in favor of the SEC, they'll surely give them the easiest draws!" and they never do that either.

Every year I feel like LSU has one of the easiest draws. And every subsequent year, I still feel that way.

Very strange #1-#16 potential matchups. Vandy & Texas have an easy path. Then either Arkansas or Tennessee. Auburn-Coastal is a weak super, so Auburn in. Then Mississippi-Georgia are matched up, which I think is another pretty weak super. And LSU-Clemson should be good. So potentially 6 SEC teams make it, but I’m picking 5.

Sticking by my previous reply. Minimum of two SEC teams will be in Omaha…..and that would be whichever two are playing in the finals.

I’ll say 6.

I think Texas has an absolute cake walk. I mean a total breeze. When the two best teams en route to Omaha for you are UCLA and UTSA, you should make it there without question.

I don’t see USM getting past Vandy, and Bama may win the Hattiesburg Regional anyway.

I don’t think Coastal gets past both Auburn AND Florida, so one of those will be in Omaha.

Tennessee/Arkansas and OM/Georgia winners, so that’s two more.

LSU/Clemson is an interesting potential matchup but Clemson is a habitual postseason choker so I struggle to see them winning two in Baton Rouge.

To get any more than that, either we or Oklahoma would have to make it there. And I think we both got really tough draws plus just aren’t Omaha caliber teams.

So I’ll say 6 is the max, would be shocked if it’s any less than 4 or 5, could easily be 6 though.

This might be the friendliest SEC CWS draw I’ve seen in maybe… ever… so I went with five.

(Now watch the SEC go 2 and barbecue in all its regionals.)

Agree. And this is after the SEC has dominated the tournament in recent years. It’s almost as if college sports has figured out that they need to start doing what makes the most money.

Feels like 4 is a gimme (LSU, Vandy, Ark/TN winner, Texas) and it could be six (UGA over GT and if UF/AU face in supers). I'll split the difference at 5.

Pretty disappointing for the SEC so far.

Seeds 1, 2, and 7 have already been eliminated. I think Ole Miss will take Georgia's spot, so the SEC is on pace for four spots in Omaha.
