How much of a beast is recruiting in the SEC?

Look at the budgets. It's almost obscene at the level of expenditures in the arms race of recruiting.
Considering the competition, Beamer and staff are doing a heck of a job and are involved with recruits who would never have given us a whiff in the past.
Tanner has always stated that if a coach needs something for recruiting he/she will get it.
As much as I disliked Muskrat, he said week 1 we needed a jet. Something faster than the crop duster we have. That still hasn’t happened
You don't get much nicer than the two Beechcraft King Air 350 that we have and it is cheaper to operate. That plane costs over $7.5M and is probably the most popular plane in use. Why do you need to go faster?

I think Beamer has garnered some attention as a SEC recruiter and it appears he's just getting warmed up.

Yes, we have been in the SEC for over 30 years. Not sure why OP is just noticing this.
But this is the same OP who post threads about Clemson then post threads complaining about the # of threads about Clemson that are posted on here. LOL

I have never noticed us having this highly ranked of a recruiting class because we never have.

Yes, Its a beast to recruit in the SEC, and has been for some time.The SEC is a FOOTBALL conference. It's not the ACC. Beamer came here with a reputation of being a VERY good recruiter. He is living up to it. The future looks bright.
If Top 10 classes by Beamer are not just "once in a blue moon", South Carolina will be able to compete with anybody. You don't need to have the best recruiting class in the nation year-in and year-out to win big. Just be up there around the Top 10, we will be able to go to war with anybody.

I'm not going to fault him. It won't be long before there's a thread about how slow it is in here.
So some extra posting is not necessarily a bad thing, imo.
To get there before Alabama, Georgia, and LSU get there. Then you can leave your plane on the landing strip, and make those other recruiting planes have to fly round in circles waiting for room to land. And tell the blue-chip recruits that "they don't really want you like we do", because they can't land to talk to them.......
It's all standard recruiting 101.......
