if Jamont comes back? From </a><a rel="nofollow" title="http://www.bulldawgjunction.com" href="http://www.bulldawgjunction.com">BulldawgJunction:

"With Jamont's situation, that was a big deal," said Beckham. "That was a big reason I committed. I asked the coaches what the percentage was of Jamont coming back and they said they felt he was not coming back. If he was coming back then I probably would have not committed. I feel they are telling me the truth and with Ben (Hansbrough) leaving, too, that just opens up another spot that I can earn if I work hard."

their sleeves? freshmens coming in and expecting a lot of playing time is wild. how about getting SOME playing time and learning from the older players on the team. basketball probably has the most play of freshmen out of the major college sports but damn it is unreal that so many expect to come in on day one and play a lot.

These high school kids all think that they are "the next big thing", and then when they realize that they suck, they blame the coach and transfer and still mysteriously suck.

But I think we all see part of the reason why some players get mad at Stansbury. He basically told this guy that Jamont isn't coming back, and that he will get his minutes. I don't know if Jamont will come back, but if he does, I could see where this guy would be upset. I don't think it's too far fetched to think that we told Hansbrough that he would play PG for us, either. Rick just tells them what they want to hear.

"Rick just tells them what they want to hear."

Of course he does. And so does everybody else. I tried to tell Meo and Stormwhiner this, but they disagreed as usual. Thats what recruiting is- getting them on campus. He just has to do a better job with them once they are here of dealing with egos and coaching them a little.

<span style="font-weight: bold;">"I am a point guard and I stressed that to Coach Stansbury," said Beckham. "He told me I would get my chance to play point guard and that I might have to play some off guard, too, which is fine with me. But I am coming in to compete at point guard."

</span></span>and if you havent been over to that site, go. there are good articles about Ravern, Elgin, a new one on Osby, and this too. the Osby article is interesting because he says that Hopson was at one point in time trying to talk Osby into going to Tennessee.
...not sure what the timeline for that could have been.<span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">

on Blitz his quotes paint a slightly different picture. I won't copy and paste the whole thing, but at one point he says Stansbury didn't promise him playing time, only the chance to play as a freshman if he works hard.

Which is it?

That's probably fine...from what I've read on Bost he's really more of a scoring guard than a point, even though he's in a PG body. So eventually this guy might can play the point offense but defend the opposing 2-guard while post plays off-guard on offense and guards the opposing point.
