Let me begin by saying that I have been a volunteer coach for the last twenty years for numerous city league teams. I have been in close contact and developed quality relationships with many young men. This is about the same amount of time Stansbury has spent with young men in college. However, he was getting paid for his work, and that probably kept him from truly understanding the boys themselves. That said, here is my solution to the transfer problem:
1. Stans must publish literature on coaching -- The young kids aren't going to want to stick around with Stans until he proves that he knows how to coach, and establishes his reputation as a legitimate coach by publishing coaching manuals. This will take away the fodder that Ole Miss fans and the national media (Shep Smith, anyone?!) have been firing at the Dawgs for years. We currently do not have a practice facility, so it would be nice for him to include a chapter on gym maintenance to make sure these kids know that Stans knows how to take care of the court both during and after games.
2. Stans should develop meaningfull relationships with players and their families BEFORE they sign -- the best way to do this is obviously basketball camps. He could possibly award trophies to the most valuable players, and slip scholarship offers between the legs of the basketball players on the trophies. The kids would say, "Oh, what's this? A surprise?" and it sure would be. 15 is probably the best age for this, so he better keep his eyes peeled for talent.
3. Challenge the College Basketball Instution -- kids today love controversy. What better way than to let the NCAA know that he's tired of their crap (Mario Austin, Lawrence Roberts) and he's not going to take it anymore. When high character kids like Billy Begley are having to pay to go to school, you know things aren't right.
4. Meo has to go -- as a single man for 18 of the last 20 years, let me just say that marriage is overrated. I just found that I couldn't develop special relationships with young boys with Zdenka in the house. Mondos don't go over well in spas. Offering smoothies at sleepovers? Party foul!

5. Stans should make it known that Kirby is our next head coach -- The kids always perform well under me because they know that if I get sent away they'll always have Gaye Humbert waiting for them in the stands.
