Interesting spot because it’s not really possible for us to take a bad loss now with three Q1 games and a solid Q2 game against a tourney team remaining. I kinda think we may already be in, but I want us to be the best seed possible and these are all winnable games. I’m not even conceding Auburn like some have, I mean we’ll be the underdogs but we do already have a win against that team.

Personally think we go 2-2 or 3-1. I have us beating A&M and SC, and if you can take one of the two big games this week then you’re really in a fantastic spot.

We have to win 1, and we still might be in a play in with that situation. Win 2 and we are a 10 seed. Lose all we are probably in the First Four Out.

We are already projected 8 or 9. If we go 2-2, we are not dropping to a 10.

Bracketmatrix which does an aggregate of all bracketology has us as a 10. You just picked out a couple. I think we are an 8 or 9 and 2-2 would keep us there, but I don't trust the selection committee.

Our NET is on the 7 line and almost everyone has us no lower than a 9 (and those will update this week). 2-2 and we might go up to a 6.

A lot of updates due today. We will be a consensus 8. The S-curve has us as the lowest 7 right now.

This is where I think we are going this week:

Beat Kentucky, lose to Auburn - solid 7.
Lose to Kentucky, beat Auburn - solid 7
Beat Kentucky AND Auburn - solid 6, outside 5.
Lose to both Kentucky and Auburn - solid 8, possible 9

1-1 this week + 2-0 vs A&M and South Carolina - solid 7, possible 6
1-1 this week + A&M win and SC loss - solid 7
1-1 this week + A&M loss and SC win - solid 7, possible 8
1-1 this week + 0-2 next week - 8/9 fence
2-0 this week + 2-0 next week - solid 6, possible 5 with SECT win
2-0 this week + 1-1 next week - 6/7 fence
2-0 this week + 0-2 next week - solid 8
0-2 this week + 0-2 next week - 10 seed with play-in game hovering
0-2 this week + A&M win and SC loss - solid 8
0-2 this week + A&M loss and SC win - 8/9 fence
0-2 this week + 2-0 next week - solid 8 with chance to play to 7.

Think our high water mark is going to be a 5 seed.

Some of it depends on the SECT and how other teams do.

3-1, is a 7 seed to me, 2-2 is an 8 seed, 1-3, probably 9/10 seed. 0-4 very much the bubble, needing some SECT wins.

I see us b/t a 7-10 seed as the most likely scenario.

John Gasaway has moved us up to a "Should be in" on his Bubble Watch:

Mississippi State Bulldogs
Josh Hubbard drained six 3s and scored 32 points as Mississippi State recorded a 20-point victory at LSU. The Bulldogs were already moving up the bracket as a projected No. 9 seed, and a road win against the Tigers by such a healthy margin can only accelerate this ascent. MSU has won five straight and will now host Kentucky. (updated Feb. 25)

Would love to see us pull a 6 seed.
3-1 should get it to.
I’ve been hard in this team a lot this year, not Jans so much bc I think he’s a pretty damn good coach but what I’ve seen these last 5 games is a total 180 vs what I saw in a few games earlier -GA Tech, Southern, spurts against Temple, among others. SCarolina, at ole miss and at home against Bama were just a few more.
If we play like we have with the effort and intensity and make some shots and MAKE FT’s, you’ll probably see us into the second weekend of the NCAA’s.
