Over the past year and a half we've tried to figure out who we want to be on offense under Beamer. At times there did not appear to be any semblance of an identity or anything that we did consistently well. Are we a power running team? Are we a 4-5 wide pass heavy squad? Do we hurry up, do we slow it down. Who are we? Kudos to our coaches and players for putting forth a brilliant effort last night. They found a combination that put our players in the best position to win and I hope we stick with it going forward
Beamer mentioned that they entered the UT game with an attacking mindset to put pressure on the opposing team as they knew they had no chance otherwise. They were determined not to just sit back and allow the other team to dictate the tone of the game. As a result, you saw one of the best offensive displays in Carolina history.
This absolutely should be our mindset and approach going forward in every game that we play. Balls to the wall, drop your nuts, hair on fire, whatever you want to call it, but we showed that it can work for our squad. Aggressive offense, aggressive defense, and aggressive special teams. We've found our Identity, now let's do it again next week!
