This young man is special. Besides qualities that he possesses that I admire (Humbleness). He walks the walk instead of talking the talk.

And I'm pissed he isn't with the Steelers. Reportedly, he really hit off with Tomlin and wanted to be a Steeler. That said, he's far better off where he is.This young man is special. Besides qualities that he possesses that I admire (Humbleness). He walks the walk instead of talking the talk.

Hurts has been worlds better this year. He’s a good example of Joe Pa’s old “you’re never as good or as bad as you look” principle.Good things the Iggles coaches here didn’t actually run him out of town last year.

Yeah he's been great. I never want to see anyone get hurt, but unfortunately too often the old saying is true: if you run a QB in the NFL, sooner or later he gets hurt. Let's hope not. This young man is special. Besides qualities that he possesses that I admire (Humbleness). He walks the walk instead of talking the talk.

I will gladly eat my crow about Hurts. He and the offense are proving me wrong. The amount he's improved is kind of insane for a one-year jump.Good stuff from a year ago
Comes with being a fan.I will gladly eat my crow about Hurts. He and the offense are proving me wrong.
Let’s face it, one of the primary joys of watching Hurts now is that you can see him improving, making good decisions, being a good football player. Hurts is like Terry McLaurin, all football player, someone you really want on your team. It’s nice to experience.I like the constant effort to improve. We should look at the top paid QBs [signed past few years] and discuss where he slots.
as much as maybe he's improved, as you noted above, having WR that can catch really make a difference. Couple that with an OL that leaves him clean many more times than not, and you get what the Eagles have.I will gladly eat my crow about Hurts. He and the offense are proving me wrong. Generally agree, but there is a big difference between someone like Hurts running and Wentz when he was with the Eagles. Hurts is more than willing to slide and sacrifice a few yards. Wentz always went for the extra yards and paid for it.Yeah he's been great. I never want to see anyone get hurt, but unfortunately too often the old saying is true: if you run a QB in the NFL, sooner or later he gets hurt. Let's hope not.

It just means he is the QB next year. I wouldn't assume this means he is the franchise QB for years to come.
The eagles need defense right now. Keeping Hurts on a rookie deal for next year is not a bad decision
Funny, when thinking of teams that may be interested, Washington was the first to come to mind. However, I think it would actually be better to stick with Heinicke and draft someone.
I don't think it's an either-or context when evaluating a GM—he can be both rightly criticized and praised. Howie made quite a number of really ineffectual draft picks when better options were still on the table and he is rightly criticized for such decisions. However, if he is not also justly praised for the good picks and moves he has made, then that would not be fair to him. His corrections of some earlier mistakes along with some really bold and insightful decisions have crafted an excellent team at this point in time. This roster has his craftmanship all over it.Howie is a genius. Where are all his detractors now? Eating crow?
To your point, if Howie just drafted Justin Jefferson over Reagor, then maybe the Eagles are in an even better situation right now? That was a completely wasted #1 pick at minimum.I don't think it's an either-or context when evaluating a GM—he can be both rightly criticized and praised. We did suck post super bowl with zero hope so slow the roll a bitHowie is a genius. Where are all his detractors now? Eating crow?
Thanks for this. I hadn’t bothered to jump into the DeLorean until just today. I didn’t need to check to see that I’ve always been high on Hurts, though.Good stuff from a year ago

I think most we willing to give him 1 more year.Good thing the Iggles coaches here didn’t actually run him out of town last year.
I don't recall anyone saying it was time to move on from Hurts. But there were a few random crazies beating the drum for Hurts, big time. They must now be really excited to see Hurts doing so well, silencing his doubters.I think most we willing to give him 1 more year.
let me try to re explain, I know for me, I wanted to see where he took us this year, to see if he really could be 'the man', or if he was going to be an average to above average QB. You know one that would struggle some, one that would miss throws, one that would throw it at their feet like Don did. Or was he going to be that guy that could take them to, and win a superbowl. For me, that question has been answered and then some. Lets face it, if he didnt get the shoulder, looking back on things, they could have been undefeated (I know they had already lost one, but they could have won that one as well) . so I figure win or lose the Superbowl, the playoffs have made him and extra $10-$20 million (goes from $30mil a year to $40-50 mil per year) We will seeI don't recall anyone saying it was time to move on from Hurts. But there were a few random crazies beating the drum for Hurts, big time. They must now be really excited to see Hurts doing so well, silencing his doubters.
