They beat "the hottest team in America" according some in the upstate.
The Charlotte pitcher that closed out the game was money. Really good command and control on the mound. Made a few batters look silly.
More like the tallest midget in America. The ACC has been a joke in the tournament.
Having said that, Bakich is a good coach, and we're going to have our hands full with him. King needs to step up.
You are giving too much credit to Bakich. Got to remember he was on that staff that had Greene and supposedly a team full of superstars. To sum it up Ray Tanner, Jerry Myers put together and outstanding pitching plan to beat the Tigers in the CWS that year. Bakich is an average mid major coach to say the least. This is my humble opinion that is all.
You're certainly free to your opinion, but he's never been a coach at a mid major. He was at Clem for one year as a volunteer assistant. He left Clem to be an assistant at Vandy. Then went on to be Maryland's HC. He took a joke of a program and improved the win total each of the three years he was there. Then Michigan hired him. He gave Michigan their only regional host site, and took them to the CWS championship game. I think he's good, and exactly the type of hire a top program SHOULD make.
