I am sure it is a Great School in many ways. I also Graduated From South Carolina. I just get Sick and Tired of the Favoritism Programs Like ND get. If you couldn't see how the Refs favored ND in the 2nd Half We were watching a different game than you were. You should visit the school sometime and you will change your mind. I’m an SC grad and our son goes to ND. I never saw the school before he started there, and it’s a incredibly impressive. The people there are the most respectful of any I’ve meet. Hate all you want if that makes you feel better…
Ara lost his starting all American RB the day of the game getting off the train. He slipped & twisted his ankle. Then lost starting QB the first serious when landed on by HOF Bubba Smith.I respect the institution. I hate the leverage they have in athletics. Hence I never pull for them.
When Parseghian played for the tie against Michigan State, and then got voted shares of the national championship, including those awarded by the major press services - and without going to a bowl - I knew then that they were going to win any "push" that came along. This sealed it for me. https://vault.si.com/vault/1966/11/28/an-upsidedown-game
Correction is in order : The refs stepped in at the end of the 1st half when Noodle Lame was forced to punt and we returned it inside their 40 but by the time the refs got done screwing us we were backed up to our own 20. That was absolutely deliberate because we were getting ready to blow that game wide open and curb stomp the Lamers and the refs knew it..... and took over.I am sure it is a Great School in many ways. I saw a team that couldn’t control the ballgame and had four 3 & outs in a row that used less than 4 minutes of clock and knew it was over then.I am sure it is a Great School in many ways. You sound jealous…Correction is in order : The refs stepped in at the end of the 1st half when Noodle Lame was forced to punt and we returned it inside their 40 but by the time the refs got done screwing us we were backed up to our own 20. I despise ND because of that Favoritism you speak of. Noodle Lame could lose 492 games in a row and *STILL* be ranked pre-season top 25. I have ZERO respect for anything Notre Dame. Feel sorry for the guy who's kid goes there. Kid will be tarnished with a "silver spoon" label for life. In fact, I once had two potential employees I was going to hire for one position. One employee went to Notre Dame and the arrogance oozed during the interview. I hired the other guy. He went to "can't remember" college.
Lol, no. Besides, I think the word you're looking for is actually 'envious.'You sound jealous…

Really I won't. They sat while other ranked teams played. They were the media darlings. You know it and I know it. I know you enjoy that distinction, only don't expect others to be so sanguine about it. I also haven't forgotten the year (1977 season) they upset top-ranked Texas in the Cotton Bowl and jumped for fifth to first, leapfrogging a second-ranked Alabama team that won big over #3 ranked Ohio State the same day. https://www.nytimes.com/1978/01/04/...ice-as-nations-no-1-college-team-a-first.htmlAra lost his starting all American RB the day of the game getting off the train. ND played at #2 MSU without AA RB and a backup QB.
After that game ND went on to beat a top 10 USC team 51-0 with their QB & RB back.
ND gave up a total of 38 points that year, 3.8 per game, while scoring 384, 38.4 per game.
That game between ND & MSU had more NFL draft picks in it that any other single game in history at that time. MSU had 4 of the top 8 picks in the 1967 NFL draft. ND & MSU were two of the best teams ever that year, thus the first ever “game of the century.”
You will need to try A LOT harder if you don’t think the 1966 ND team was national champions.
