fool. Football and TV pay the bills. There will be a new level of accountability. I don't think anyone expects a national championship. But we do expect to beat LA Tech. Remember he hit a homerun with Cohen in spite of Polk's efforts. Football may actually be an easier situation for him.

and the current SEC coach of the year (Yeah football is that bad at MSU - win 7 games = COY, despite someone else in division winning Nat'l Title).

Greg Byrne ain't firing nobody this year - maybe next, but firing McCromvey and company this year will bring a storm of such bad PR - only because he is black -

We really need Croom to win and get hired or something - I mean who would want to take over - nobody is going to think winning is possible at MSU without cheating ala Jackie

I mean, how do you know that Cohen is a "homerun"? He may very well be, but he still has yet to coach a game at Mississippi State.

Money is more important than skin color in the world of athletics. McCorvey will be fired without hesitation of skin color if this ship continues to sink further.

I don't think any borderline reasonable person could say race had anything to do with the dismissal of McCorvey or Croom. Four losing seasons in five years is unacceptable in major college football.

Croom, McCorvey, and all of the other coaches have had plenty of time to display their coaching abilities after five years.

anywhere with Sly & McCorvey's NO offense. We were lucky to get into a bowl game because of his defensive coaching . Sly & Mac showed the whole country on ESPN that they don't have a clue how to coach in Div 1 college football & Sly still thinks the fans are still dumbasses cause he blamed his players instead of himself.I said from day 1, he will never be SEC caliber coaching material. Alabama was smart enough to even take DA Shula before him. Thanks again LT. Sly also knew without giving EJ a lofty raise, ( that he well deserved). He just might get himself a lofty raise & McCorvey a raise & that he's probably laughing all the way to the bank about, cause he pulled the wool over all the higher ups eyes . I'm just sick as hell cause we all know we need a new head coach right now .................................period.( Higher expectations just went down the drain. ) LT hired us the first black coach in the Sec & his choice just proved saturday that all 11 other white coaches in the sec are wayyyyy superior to his dubmass.

Ellis knew from the inside out that last year was a huge fluke and would probably never happen again. He left when his value was at it highest after an 8 win season to get to a much more stable situation. He knew Croom was too stupid to maintain success at anybody`s acceptable level and didn`t want to be part of the train wreck when the wins had gotten so hard to come by that his defense couldn`t carry the impossible load and his age was making him less desirable as a DC. The folks who gave Croom that big raise and EXTENSION have got to be the most gullible, naive SOB`s in the whole country. MSU, the beat goes on.
