I hope we are giving nil money to the wrestling team.

I hope we are taking care of a program that is just off the charts. Cael and the team deserve our best.
psu 54 Wyoming 0.

that is crazy good!!!
So boring anymore. Yeah, the dominance is impressive, but not at all interesting at this point. Ridiculous matches against nothing programs (and almost all programs are nothing programs at this point) don't help at all.

I’m not a wrestling expert but I think it’s impossible to overstate just how dominant the PSU program is right now. I hesitate to call anyone a “nothing program”. Guys are out there competing so hats off to them. If Wyoming was up against anyone besides PSU, they’d likely have a few competitive matches. Everyone wants their favorite team to dominate so we should enjoy the great ride while we can. Hopefully it lasts awhile.

I'm one of the few, I guess, who get easily bored with "domination." I never wanted to dominate anyone ... I'd move on to a tougher challenge if that was the case (better competition, different activity, etc.).

As a spectator, I want to be entertained ... tough competition is much more entertaining to watch than folks just curbstomping the opponents, even if the team I'm rooting for ends up losing. It's OK in spurts, because you know it's unlikely to continue ... like if PSU football just went through the playoffs this year beating opponents 49-0, I'd be OK with that, I guess. But then if they continued on next year, and the year after ... yawn.

In wrestling, it can be more bearable because you're worried about each weight class, and there's usually stiff competition in the tourneys, but these team meets ... boring as heck anymore.

It'd be more exciting to watch an intrasquad wrestle-off than some of these dual meets.

All the respect in the world for what Cael & Co. have built. It's just mostly dull now, until you get to the individual challenges in March.

I hope a decade goes by with you being bored with PSU football because of their dominance.

What would you like them to do? They wrestle in the toughest conference in the country and they still dominate it. How do you propose they find a tougher challenge?

You probably would get bored with someone like this as well. Wake up every morning next to her and say, oh it’s you again. 🤣😱

Yeah, there's not much they can do. I mean, they could schedule more challenging dual meet opponents, but even those outcomes would be pretty much predetermined at this point (but we'd have some better individual matchups). It is what it is. I just don't find it very interesting any longer, during the regular season ... and the postseason is just about some individual titles. I'd like a more competitive landscape.

This isn't to take away anything from what they've done. It's incredibly impressive. Cael is the best ever. I'm proud the program. It's just ... bleh at this point.

Well, there is the phrase "no matter how good she looks, someone, somewhere, is tired of her ****."

But, yeah ... that's an entirely different situation. The goal of a mature relationship is to grow it for a lifetime. It's not a competition. The goal of watching a sporting event (to me) is to be entertained. A competitive game is the most entertaining (to me). I mean, there's the odd instance of just wanting to curbstomp a douchey opponent ... but if you did that again and again and again and again, eventually, that'd get tiresome, too.

Landon Tengwall said on one of his pods this week that Starocci was getting more NIL $$$ than 90% of the football team. Not bad in a sport that doesn’t bring in tens of millions a year.

Here, this will satiate you for awhile ...

Maybe if I rooted for one of those teams players for a lifetime this would be entertaining or if there was something unique about the dominatation.
If I rooted for a team or player most of my life I cannot imagine being bored by their success.
Also watching something special is entertaining (Micheal Phelps, Jordan, Lemieux, etc.), even if the outcome is known.

To put this in perspective, against Ok State, a likely candidate for 3rd place this year PSU would be favored in 9 matches, with the 10th being a toss-up. With that said, there might only be 3 bonus point wins.

By way of comparison, OK State wrestled Wyoming and won 32-6. Wyoming's top two wrestlers were injured. There is not much we can do about that.

As to wrestling better competition, scheduling is a two way street. I think there is a reason we don't see top ranked teams on our schedule. Losses work against wrestlers when seeding takes place.

Next week, we wrestler two top twenty teams.

Relax and enjoy the ride (no pun intended). It won't last forever.
