this season is almost assuredly a lost cause anyway. Therefore, anything that happens this season that can somehow lessen Polk's influence on the selection of the next head coach is a good thing. If a losing season is needed to keep him out of the way for us to do a REAL head coaching search and get some new blood and new excitement in this program then so be it. Last year's fluky run to the CWS was nice but still didn't change my feeling that our program has been and continues to run on cruise control (if even that much) and I've found myself growing very disinterested in everything related to MSU baseball lately because of it.
