BJD that Connor Gillaspie, the son of former Diamond Dawg Mark Gillaspie, was taken 37th overall today. Anyone think he could have helped at third the last 3 years? I guess Polk and Raffo thought he was as good as Head in high school.

It just drives me crazy that we cant get sons of former players. Especially with the atmosphere we have the Dudy-Noble. There is no way Raffo should be considered for this job. No freakin way

Maybe the simplest explanation is that MSU baseball isn't as great as the fans make it out to be. This failed social experiment of bring Polk back has finally gotten the average MSU fan to realize what former players and more astute observers have long realized.

you can't just assume players will come to you just because their parents played at MSU. You still have to recruit and let them know that they are wanted. The players won't/can't assume that, especially if another school says that they do want them. Also, how do you explain Palmeiro's son wanting to come, but has no offers despite being a pretty good prospect? How do you explain Logan Power at UM of all places? Ty Grisham should have at least been offered a walk-on spot. There's nothing wrong with keeping alumni happy.

Just another example of dropping the ball in recruiting. And the ironic thing is that Raffo and co. are counting on their connections to keep them around, although clearly undeserved.

Not sure if your question was sarcastic or not, but that's a legit program. Anyways, Raffo sucks balls for not pulling this kid, because per his bio he was also "recruited by Creighton"

Damn those BlueJays!!!!
