I just went to David Bromberg’s retirement concert

I didn’t know ahead of time but he announced that this was his last concert. He performed with his quintet and put on a magnificent show. I’ve been seeing him for 50 some years - too many times to count. He’s still terrific. It was sad to see it end. He must be close to 80 now but his voice is clear as a bell and his guitar playing is pristine. The supporting musicians were superb. The show was at the New Hope Winery, and I was happy to have front row seats for this historic event.
