as far as athletic facilities go?
Granted we have probably the 11th worst football stadium and a pretty suck a$$ softball facility but as far as overall athletic quality,....where would we rank?
I think the most looked at facilities would be football stadium, football locker rooms Game/practice, academic facility,
IPF football, basketball arena, IPF basketball, baseball, track and field, tennis, womens softball, ....etc.
Also, see where uat has a student rec facility with a lazy river, large swim pool and other outdoor/aquatic traits.

Personally- and I have been to most SEC stadiums, I don't think our stadium is all that bad, it's just small. I think the Junction and the new videoboard will help the stadium a little bit. At the same time, I can't really disagree with the #11 ranking all that much. We're better than Vandy, and I think we are comparable to UM. I think that speaks to how nice the stadiums are in the SEC. LSU's is dirty and the chain link fence is a nice touch, but the atmosphere definately is what makes Tiger Stadium.

I think the Hump is pretty good- it's certainly better than UM's and Bama's, but it definately should be renovated and expanded.

Dudy-Noble is great, but I do think that it definately needs some upgrades here and there.

I actually like ours and om better than several others. Tenn is very cramped, and once again this fall, I get to squeeze my 250lb *** into a seat wide enough for a 120lb man. Bama, I havent been to since they renavated it, but it to used to be cramped up a bit. I like Auburns the best. At DWS and om, there arent too many bad seats in the house.
I think the atomesphere is what makes the stadium, and at state and om, both teams have been pretty ****** for some time, thus not a whole lot of big games. And at state, our biggest moments at home recently where during the 11:30 slot.
The Hump is better than om, bama, auburn (for now), SC (also, for now) and at the least tied with LSU. Ive never been to Fla, Vandy, or UK.
Dudy Noble will soon fall to middle of the pack when LSU, UK, and OM do their new stadiums.

than USC's. Theirs is brand new. And I wouldn't say the Hump is nicer than LSU's. The Hump needs some work. If we could get rid of the bleachers and expand chairbacks, Dudy Noble would be tops in the SEC. As it stands, I'd say its third right now behind Arkansas and USC.

not even close to the number 10 stadium. DWS sucks. period. New video board or not. The junction doesnt mean squat to the stadium and isnt that great either. Basketball is adequate and much better than Ole Miss and Alabama. Baseball was tops in the 80's and 90's but has slipped quite a bit since everybody has remodeled or built new ones. Ole Miss stadium is nicer, not as big but nicer. They have come a long way and this wont go over well with some on here. The sheep cant handle the truth but I have dealt with it. I hope Greg will do something to get us remodeled and back on top. (Didnt say ours was bad, but not where most State fans say it is.) In the SEC overall our facilities top to bottom are probably 10th or 11th.

the football facilities are not up to par. although i wonder sometimes what difference that makes from a recruiting standpoint. southern cal has some ****** *** facilities (or at least had in the past couple years).

and this is purely speculative on my part, but I think that once Cohen gets the team going good in about 2-3 years and people come back out, you'll see a drive to renovate and probably expand the seats down the foul lines, maybe some more luxury boxes, and maybe some other renovations like the ticket office and concession stands- at the very least. Adding more box seats that would be closer to the action would be nice to.

Also, it's obvious that GB wants to focus on the new scoreboard and the IPF for basketball right now, which is very reasonable. We're likely to get a bigger donation once the baseball team starts doing well again, anyway so it makes a lot of sense to wait.

They have committed to very nice track, softball, soccer specific stadiums. But, no one on the state campus understands the importance of aesthetically pleasing buildings - hence the fake brick on the baseball scoreboard, the two tone brick on ruby hall, and the terrible looking IPF that we have.

Our facilities can be no where above 11th.

definately should be taken down. A metal frame painted black would look much better.
