Where State overachieved because they played like they were pissed off. We bitched and moaned about it because we wanted to be seen as a “winner” and not looked at like the “poor dirt farmers”. Those teams were fun to watch and we had a ton of pride in the way they played.

Those days for our men’s teams are gone. Football, baseball and basketball teams at State play like a bunch of p…..s with no heart. There are exceptions: Hubbard, Isaac Smith.

Serious question what’s the problem. Who sets the culture? Is it the AD? Is it the coaches? Is it just the new era of players? I have no idea but I miss them days that we had some “dawgs” on the pitch that took no **** and played hard.

I don’t think this basketball team lacked heart. I think they lacked offensive and defensive talent.

Outside of the 95 & 96 runs our basketball program has never over achieved. Baseball is in a rut right now but hopefully (?) a new coach in 26 rights that ship and football is still up in the air.
