Folks are gushing on Twitter about Colorado’s five point home win over FCS team North Dakota State last night like they just beat the Kansas City Chiefs.

This is why I despise Colorado. The media is treating Deion like he’s a coaching god, when the reality is, he is a 5-8 head coach, who has yet to post a win over an FBS team with a winning record. Now their win over an FCS team at home is being heralded as taking the college football world by storm.

I actually agree & disagree. I see the media covering Deion and Colorado (because of Deion) to the extremes. Last year he took a bad team and won a few games early and everyone went nuts. Then they ended the season on a losing streak and many in the media basically made it sound like his tenure was as good as over.

The reality is people are interested in what Deion is doing at Colorado. So the media is going to take extreme stances both positive and negative depending on what happened that week to increase discussion, views, and clicks. I’ve heard as much negativity as positivity from the media regarding Deion. In both cases they are typically major overreactions.

But beating NDSU isn’t easy either. They are a good program. No doubt not a Georgia or Ohio State, but on a night where the games were pretty subpar…Colorado and NDSU was entertaining. Outside of UNC and Minnesota, which was an ugly game, there isn’t a whole lot to discuss other than some huge blowouts.

This is why the media can’t be trusted anymore. It’s one thing when it’s sports but this happens in every area now. Paul Finebaum wrote that he used to intentionally say something factually wrong just to get callers to call in and gripe. He didn’t care as his job depended on listeners and his listeners loved to call in and correct him. So he intentionally would lie about things … that’s scary when it comes to things that truly matter.

I get it, but you're still a P4 team against an FCS team at home. A 5-point win, even against a good FCS team isn't something to rave about. Particularly when your D allowed more yards than they averaged in FCS games last year.

It gave us something to talk about and watch , without that game Thursday's games would of been more boring.

Its kind of like you talking about all these failed coaches at South Carolina, your takes were wrong, but it gave us something to talk about.

I guess in a way, Colorado is like the football program version of you, wrong in a lot of ways, but not boring and gets us talking! :)

But the only reason anyone is talking about it is because the media is making it something to talk about. For all the effusive praise for what he’s accomplishing, he has not actually accomplished anything. He’s beaten four bad teams and one FCS team.

I've wondered the past few years how Carolina would do playing NDSU.
We'd probably lose. It would at least be a very good game. We prove that any time we play teams like a Jacksonville State, Troy, or some team like that.

This is hilarious. 18 is going through the 5 stages of grief over a win in Week 1 just because it's Prime. SMH.

The media covers Colorado and Deion Sanders because people/fans/casual fans/nonfans are interested. There's a reason you've got Terrelle Owens on the sideline at a Colorado vs. FCS team last night. There's a reason FIVE (5) of Colorado's games last year ended up in the top 25 most watched games of the season. That's an insane stat.

The media definitely went overboard with positivity early on last season and then seemed to overreact the other direction, but that's media in 2024. You're not getting a middle of the road view on anything, whether it's sports, news, or anything else.

Hunter is now a heisman contender and front runner cause they want him to be. He is a very good player and made one really great catch. Not so much different than the one Alshon made against Alabama with someone pulling his shirt. The rest of his catches any D1 player could’ve made except they would not have had to push off blatantly like he did. He had two offensive PI calls the refs were too chicken to call.
