may literally be the only stadium left without LED lighting. Wake-Forest has theirs dancing tonight agains Cal.
We'll never win another game then will we?
Personally rather than spending money on a disco light show I'd rather see improved parking lot access, better incoming and outgoing traffic patterns, better in stadium Internet, better sound system, and mostly am improved on the field product

Gotta say led light ribbons flashing on and off during commercial timeouts and rock concert sound are a couple of the reasons that gave me my epiphany that I no longer enjoy attending games. I like a football atmosphere and I like a concert atmosphere but I don't like a concert football atmosphere.

I don’t disagree with you. I was making an observation, and made a comment on the observation. Whether or not that would cause us to win another game or not, is unlikely. But, all those that you list for us to spend money on, are right inline with new lighting.

This is the least of my concerns for the football program.
I’ve been waiting 50 years for a great football program. Anything that would be an asset to that, I’ll support. Mississippi State has got to keep up in every single aspect for the product to get better.

Why does it matter? Of all the things to care about I can’t get this one on my list.
It doesn’t matter to everybody. I just posted while I made the observation that Wake Forest, along with most other schools has new, up to date lighting. We don’t. No big deal!

I would like to see us lower the capacity down to 45-50K to allow for all chairbacks and wide aisles. Add escalators to every level and make it more pro-like in every way. Comfort is the name of the game to get people to show up.
Adding chairbacks and upgrading would be a great thing. But lowering the capacity would keep us on the bottom. If we built seating in the SEZ we could accomplish all we needed without decreasing our facility seating.

Gotcha. I’ve seen a few post about LED lights on here and I didn’t have any context since I’ve not been to a night game in years.

Not many you can bet cause we don't have led lights premium sound and we never wear white pants. If only we could remedy these issues I could see us bowling again.
Clue me in here; what's the relationship of any of this to white pants? AND, did you miss the white-out game against UF? If I was going to complain against anything white, it would be against those insanely fugly white helmets.

I was at our game at Arizona St.

Any other Bulldogs that were there with me can attest to the fact that they have it figured out. LED lights, fireworks, the sound system were all top shelf

I was envious. Where is all our SEC money going?

Was at a Bama game against UPig several years ago and the LED light show rock concert atmosphere outplayed the Saban led Bama team and that's when I realized that the main thing was no longer the main thing.
Hey guys...our football team blows. Let's make sure the stadium experience mirrors it. Also, let's ensure we model our gameday experience around a 2000's era CUSA game.

We will be sure to get all the recrewtzzzzzzzzz!12!!!!11!!

Just keep us on the 1100 AM Jefferson pilot game of the week. Won't need lights. Solved.

What's next?
They certainly would have been useless this year. I'm not sure the flashing LEDs are all that great anyway unless they're also used to replace the existing poor lighting and the colored flashes are just a byproduct of lighting upgrade (which I assume is the case given the high cost we've seen posted).

This is what a lot of people don’t seem to grasp. Recruits take notice of every “cool” thing a school has to offer.

Y’all totally don’t understand the genius of Lonnie Tinkle and the fact that we need to return to the glory days of MSU Sports Administration. We need to accept our place at the bottom of the SEC hierarchy and do nothing to enhance the fan experience or try to improve our athletic teams.

Does anyone remember the expansion of 2000ish? I recall after they completed the east upper deck, they did NOT add lights on top of the east side to mirror the west side. They keep the existing lights to cut cost, which are from 1984ish.

The west side lights are for sure from the expansion of 1984.

I noticed last night in Neyland, their show included more lights than just the stadium lights. There are ribbon boards and many extra lights all along the press box and above us.

Speakers...
Also I will say. I did pay attention to speakers last home game and all we have is on the south end on the video board. So it sounds like. I noticed at OM and Neyland there are speakers directly above my head and about every 10 yards down the line. They are loud as hell and I can barely hear someone speak to me at times. With that said, yes, our speaker system is ridiculously out dated.

Now if you're still reading. We can blame an AD from a decade ago or you can give money. Because all these ADs say the same thing, we need more money.

I heard Byrne say once we had 6,000 people in the BC. His goal was 14,000. Then the great reset of the BC system by Selmon. I've noticed when checking my ranking it shows 8,000 people are in the BC..... good grief..... eight thousand!

I think it's structurally impossible to add matching lights on the East Side upper deck. They didn't build the upper deck to support lights.

I've never felt that LEDs etc were what we need to prioritize, but after attending at Neyland Saturday I may have changed my mind. Atmosphere was fun and exciting, we had 5 small kids with us who were engaged with what was happening IRL instead of begging for screens or coloring books. It broke my heart that my 9 y/o daughter asked if we could go to more UT games because of how much fun she had. Sorry kid, we ring cowbellz in this house.
