As I've posted in another thread, RT returning to the dugout has an equal probability to USC returning to the ACC.or will he resign as AD and go back to coaching baseball.
Consider it done.I don't think Kingston goes anywhere after this season. Maybe if we end up with a losing record and miss the postseason.
I agree, Ray has already climbed the mountain to the top of the coaching profession. He doesn't seem like the type to climb the same mountain twice. As I've posted in another thread, RT returning to the dugout has an equal probability to USC returning to the ACC.
Now it would behoove RT to be vetting potential replacements (possibly if this and next season go badly) and we all hope it won't come to that, i.e., we get good pitchers and lively bats.
He's done with coaching.I agree, Ray has already climbed the mountain to the top of the coaching profession. He doesn't seem like the type to climb the same mountain twice.
I hope so. I hope he has some sort of list for all sports at USC. You never know when someone may leave for another opportunity on their own, or you initiate it yourself (the latter with permission of the BOT, of course). You think Tanner has a list, already?
Have you been following USA baseball over the past few seasons? I honestly have not.I'll start his list:
1. Mark Calvi
His mind is preoccupied with the basketball search. He has his hands full but put himself in this situation.or will he resign as AD and go back to coaching baseball.
Yep. Ray's 63 (had to Google it). While that's not necessarily too old, he's been in a suit too long at this point. I would be STUNNED to see him back on any field in a coaching capacity. He's done with coaching.
You don't think we are headed in that direction? lolI don't think Kingston goes anywhere after this season. Maybe if we end up with a losing record and miss the postseason.
I have looked at some games. Took some time to read his resume with his current team. I also liked his development of players from reading articles. I'm sure he surrounds himself with a good staff also.Have you been following USA baseball over the past few seasons? I honestly have not.
If he does, I'm pretty sure we don't want to know who is on it.You think Tanner has a list, already?
If he keeps lists, he's not very good at making lists.I hope so. I hope he has some sort of list for all sports at USC. You never know when someone may leave for another opportunity on their own, or you initiate it yourself (the latter with permission of the BOT, of course).
I heard that 4 of them have already turned him down....Well its Ray Tanner, so he wont get any of his top 5 guys.
I was thinking Otis Nixon or Deion Sanders or Bobby Cox or Dale Murphy or……#5The 5 worst hires imaginable.
I’m thinking Russ Nixon might be his top choice.
You don't think we are headed in that direction? lol
You said "maybe if we have a losing season and miss the postseason". And you said "I don't think he gets fired". So you implied it.Did I say that?
Hopefully goes back to that job himself.or will he resign as AD and go back to coaching baseball.
I wouldnt say the softball coach is good. They have underwhelmed alot and they have gotten waxed by Clemson the last two years and those two years are the first time Clemson has even had a softball program. So they just create something and it already surpasses us. Bev Smith is not that good.I will say Ray hired a good Softball coach and Coach Beamer is another good hire... Ray was forced by former players to hire Coach Beamer or it would have been another wonder pick by Ray Tanner going on his own and find a coach from the high school football ranks..
I don't know anything about Paris, but I hope he can coach..
About as likely to happen as us rejoining the ACC.Hopefully goes back to that job himself.
I would have liked preHolbrook.Jim Toman
