I'm sure the drainage there is way better than my yard, but I've got a small pond growing in my backyard in Atlanta, and this only happens a few times each spring when the ground is very saturated. There is supposed to be a break in the rain from 5-9ish, but that is a pretty small window to get the field ready, warmed up, and a game completed before another round of storms.
