hires Raffo and it turns out that MSU wallows in mediocrity for 4 to 5 years before it becomes obvious the wrong choice was made and Raffo is given the boot, should Byrne's employment be also terminated?

Now if Raffo turns out to be the second coming then, hey, no problem.

his employment for the next 4-5 years on Raffo's success or failure should he be hired. He is not in a very normal position at this point. We have somewhat of a cluster-17 going on until July. I am just sitting back and hoping for the best right now, because there is no telling how this is going to turn out. One thing in our favor is the fact of being in season, and not really being able to make a decision until the summer. That may be the saving grace for us

If that happens, our baseball head coach position will no longer draw the candidates that we can currently draw. The same thing will happen to our baseball program that has happened to the basketball program at UK, and the football program at Bama. And that is unpardonable.

(OK ---nobody start asking me if I think our baseball program has been as good as UK's basketball program or Bama's football program in the Bear days -- because I don't think that.)
