If Kingston doesn’t get the yardcocks to Omaha

Absolutely. This program should have those standards. It’s amazing how much we’ve settled as it is.
Tough question. Alot of good teams don't make Omaha each year. The best team we had didn't make it IMO. So many factors play into this.
Now, I will say making a Super Regional this year is a must. That is a standard this program should be able to meet more often than not.

We haven’t been to Omaha in 12 years. Ray Tanner’s longest drought was 6 years. Tanner was the last coach to take us there.
I agree. Every year shouldn’t be the goal. But this will be his 7th year (including the canceled Covid year). We should absolutely go AT LEAST once in 6 years. What’s crazy is Holbrook did a better job and only got 4 years.
The College World Series is on my bucket list of sports events I want to attend with Carolina in it, before I go to GLORY...

Yes, mostly because of how ridiculous his excuses have been.
I was blessed to be able to attend 2011 and 2012. It is a great event to attend. I would like to attend the whole event, beginning to end. That would be on my bucket list.

I don't think Kingston is the answer; I haven't from about yr 2 or 3. I think our preseason ranking this year is too optimistic; I think we take a step back from last year. Kingston should definitely be gone if we miss a regional and maybe if we miss a super. It's hard to justify firing a coach who takes you to the supers but falls short of Omaha - tough call.
You could have a good, even great, team and not make it to Omaha. If we duplicate the record of our 2000 team and go 56-10 but get upset in the Super Regional, I would be disappointed, but wouldn't call for firing the coach.
What I want to see this year is a team that is reasonably capable of making it to Omaha. That likely means finishing the top quartile of the SEC and hosting a regional.

For me it's about what we will look like at the plate. Last year I thought was much improved over any other of Kingston's years... approach and mechanics wise... with the biggest difference being approach. This many years into his tenure, we need to show some stability in what we want to do there. We can not and should not tolerate one good year out of six on offense. All I can say is if we don't have a good post season showing, our plate approach (and appearance) better not be a reason for it.
