Not gonna happen. ECU coach is always on the list but I've heard he ain't leaving there unless Ole Miss calls and has had multiple power 5 offers over the years.

What about Kentucky coach?

I like the resume of Tennessee coach Elander....at least for interview.

Maybe he's not ready for D1, but we should at least talk to Powell. I'm typically opposed to looking at grads, since most of the time they are only on our radar because they are a grad, but Powell has actually shown some chops and has a national title to his credit. He can coach baseball. I'd lean against it because of the chance you end up in the unenviable position of a Scott Frost. Would Tanner want to be put in the position of having to fire one of his former players? It's fraught with complications, but if both sides are understanding that this may or may not work out, it could work.

Not saying he's at the top of the list. There's a gajillion baseball coaches out there, most we have never even heard of. Not like football.

If we were really, really, really, really lucky, he could hire Powell and not ever be in a position to have to fire him...... If he (Tanner) would walk his butt to the outrance already....

Powell is a good coach and being a grad in his case is not a negative but a positive. To me, it's a motivator to return the program to resemble the proud heritage he was a part of. His on-field coaching, player development and recruiting is a positive. I would vote to take the chance on Powell and think he deserves consideration.
