i am not bashing...just making an observation.

i find it funny that we lose coaches because their wives or entire families hate living in the Starkville area. we make fun of this and say all sorts of bad things about the place that the move to. threads go on and on about starkville being not that bad of a place to live, etc. but on the other hand when we have a coach who happens to have a family that wants to stay in the area we flip the coin and bash their wives and families for wanting to stay.

i guess being consistently inconsistent on 6pack is more the norm than the exception.

and appreciate what he's done for MSU as a player and assistant coach. I really wish there was a legitimate reason to settle for hiring him but so far I haven't come up with any good ones at least as far as on the field. The only reasons to hire him are off the field, i.e. keep Polk and maybe a few major contributors happy so they will continue to support the program even if you lose a lot of support from the rest of the fanbase.
